Default Matchday 2: BVB v. Mainz 05 [R]

I figured I'd go ahead and start this up. Hopefully we can finish some of our chances this time around and get three points in the home opener. Anyone heard anything else on Kehl?

EDIT: The German language section of the official website estimates he'll be out 3-4 weeks. Ouch. That really sucks.

Its not too bad.. almost the best news we could have hope for. The bundesliga stays in schedule for the next two weeks, so he will miss those games for sure. But then it takes a 2 week break I think and that should be enough to get him back.

Exactly. If all goes right, he'll miss two matches. Two matches we should still be able to win without him.

If the offense plays like it did in Munich, we should take the three points. However, the defense will have to get their heads out of their asses.

Yeah, no kidding. We gave Bayern way too much time and space on the ball. As for Valdez, he was driving me crazy. Could he learn to finish? He had numerous chances. Hopefully he'll put those in the back of the net!

Kahn stoned him a couple of times too. Give credit where it's due.

Yeah, that's true. I just seem to think that with all those chances, atleast one of them should get in.

Oh well, as long as he keeps this up, the goals will come.

I think so. I think it just wasn't our night. I'm happy that we played nowhere near our best and for the majority of the 90 minutes, we hung with an FC Bayern team with plenty to prove to their fans and themselves.

In the past in that type of situation, Bayern would blow us off the pitch.....

As long as the guys don't get discouraged, I think we can take Mainz on Saturday. They played well at home on Saturday, but Bochum hung right with them. With our fans cheering our guys on, I think we'll see goals from Valdez and Frei.
