Gerard Wiekens [R]
For the 3rd time this year, Wiekens started in central defense for City in yesterday's 1-0 win over Birmingham City.
If he keeps playing and they keep not giving up any goals, I'll have to dig out my 'Walking in a Wiekens Wonderland' T shirt from '99.

He NEVER lets us down, the 3-1 V the rags was a good example of his heart...throwing himself at everything. He isn't the quickest defender in the world but his positional sense makes up for it.And he gave my friends son a kich-about at the training ground!

Gerard Wiekens [R]
I bought the T shirt (at Maine Road) when he was the most important player on the team as they climbed out of D2. I remember hearing then a lot of off-hand remarks about how he was an impressive human being as well. It's a very pleasant surprise, but I am surprised that he has been able to keep up in the Premier League.
