Thumbs down Ever had network problems after uninstalling Norton Antivirus?

Well that sucked!

I run a small home network off a linksys server. Earlier tonight I uninstalled Norton antivirus on one of the computers and immediately the network connection went down. After much hair pulling and confusion and after talking with the folks at Linksys I realized that the problem was in my network card. Apparently, when I uninstalled Norton it took some of my network card drivers along with it. So I reinstalled the drivers and now everything is back to normal.

But I don't understand what the devil happened. Why would uninstalling an anti-virus program end up deleting some of your network card drivers along with the program? Is there an explanation? Or was this just a fluke?
