Default George Best

Football legend and recovering alcoholic George Best is undergoing a liver transplant in London's Cromwell Hospital. In December Best was told he needed a transplant following medical confirmation that his liver was only functioning at 20%.

I love these stories because they always say Georgie has an "ongoing battle with alcohol". Something about that approach to the drink deserves a grin and a grimmace.

Yeah, his drink problem is a little more serious than spillage eh?

From what I gather its a pretty serious ting. Lets hope he recovers soon.

"Football legend George Best's liver transplant operation at a London hospital is going well but the hours afterwards will be critical, his consultant has said.
Best's consultant Professor Roger Williams said: "If he gets through tonight he should do well.
He said that Best - a recovering alcoholic - would be in hospital for several weeks but if he got through the first week, his long term chances of survival were good.
"He was a very sick man," he said. "
