I encourage all Canadian soccer supporters to respond to my thread in the World Rivalries Forum of the World Cup. It is entitled: "Canada deserves the 2014 World Cup". I have been out of the country for several years. Is a movement already in place by the federation to host the event?

Yes there is a movemeny afoot but it is a weak effort and few are convinced there is any seriousness to it. I think that you can see all of the documents at the CSA site.

Canada will have absolutely no chance at getting the Cup if the US bids for 2014 and the CSA knows it.

Why would you want Canada hosting it if you're a US supporter? Why not just have it here?

The US isn't going to get it either. Too soon after 94.

2014 will be interesting.

South America, USA and Australia will all be bidding.

Personally, I would love to see South America get it. It has been a very long time since the last they held the event

The Australia bid was annouced by the leaders of New South Wales and Victoria. The Australian PM doesn't back the bid while Soccer Australia is in limbo over it.

The announcement was probley done to get people into line.

Hell, as a US supporter, I would rather have the the WC in Canada. It'll be less expensive on the fans!
