I decided to post this thread here becasue we should cover thrends outside of WC Finals into demestic games as well.

-- Brazil cannot beat France in official competiation.
-- England loses a pk shootout.
-- Germany wins a pk shootout.
-- England cannot beat Sweden
-- Scotland exits in the 1st round.

Sorry, soccer...eh...well certainly Spain has never shaken their underachieving label, and you can definately say the European teams own this competition when its held in Europe, which is why personally I like to see it in places like South Africa or South Korea etc, which are more of "neutral grounds".

mexico loses in the second round....

4th time in a row.

the past three third place in the WC either don't qualify to the next cup (sweden,turkey) or crash out in the first round (croatia)

The third place in the WC Finals(given it is an European team)never qualifies the next European Championship. Poland 1982.... France 1986..... Italy in 1990.... Sweden 1994.... Croatia 1998.... Turkey 2002.
