    Visita www.venezuelatuya.com tambien.

Buena gente y buena comida....avoid caracas and eye to eye contact with authorities, your colombian accent will get you into a lot of questions.

Another reason next year's Copa America will field competitive teams is that the timing won't coincide with South American WCQ, thus eliminating another reason for the nations to field less than full strength squads.

For this reason, I think Copa America should switch to being held every four years on each year following a World Cup.

    I hope so!

but most of the new coaches will try the new players or just the ones that play in this side of the world....Euro ligas have a big problem lending top players for national teams in conmebol.

No way, Everyone failed their objectives (menos Ecuador) this WC, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, and the other that didn't qualified they have been looking forward to this for a while, then Argentina no gano la copa, Brazil because of the High expectations they need this more than anyone else, then Paraguay also failed big time, in py all they talk about now is getting ready for Copa America, if Paraguay doesn't perform well It could cost the President of the Federation his job so you can be sure he will find a way to get all the players.

In Venezuela we are not very confident about our team.
We think that we are going to suck again.

the coach (Richard Paez) keeps on insisting on lining up a team around his son who NOBODY wants.
None of the 5 teams that are going to play Copa Libertadores/Sudamericana has shown interest for him.
Besides, the coach's son team just went down to 2nd division :(

2004 was pretty good too. Is this the return of Copa America??

Only "bad" thing is that Brazil and Argentina have the two most talented teams in the world and Argentina is the best team right now, I don't care what anyone says.

So while we'll see a lot of good futbol, we're probably going to be aiming to see who gets #3 again.

I think everyone is Hungry for a victory, Players, couches, Directivos and anything could happen, Remember Paraguay's under 23 team beat Brazil last time, but got Eliminated by Uruguay, also Uruguay bearly lost to Brazil, I think anything could Happen this time.

Teams tend to take more chances in Copa America. I disagree that Argentina/Brazil in the final is the no-brainer. I think SA teams are ready to step it up against the 2 powerhouses. I think as SA WE WERE ALL dissapointed at the Brazilian play in the WC. This type of play is what coaches from other teams will point at and say, 'you guys can beat those guys...just play your game and put some love behind that shirt'.

Funny thing is looking at the Argentina CA 04 roster vs WC 06 roster, shows me that they did play at almost full strength vs a 50% Colombia (I mean Heano as starting GK:rolleyes:)

Well, it definitely has the potential to be the best Copa America thanks to the awesome new infrastructure (read in some other forum that Chavez has stepped up the spending on public transportion, new subway lines in different cities included) and other reasons already listed by other posters.

However, the Copa America in Peru was pretty good. In fact, I think it brought back some honor to an otherwise undervalued tournament. It's also interesting to note that many teams will play competitively as opposed to just seeking 'experience' or 'trying out the B team'.
