City chairman David Bernstein resign today.
Looks like the "spend big" fraction at the board forced Bernstein to make this move.
IMO this is bad news for the club, we could turn in to another Leeds if things doesn't go as smoothly as Wardle & Keegan is hoping.

It seems to me that the single contribution that Bernstein made as chairman was fiscal sanity. Remember, when Francis Lee left, the books at City looked as bad as the team.

At the bottem of the SoccerNet article, there is mention of a rumor that Dennis Tueart might be the next chairman. My sense from the dark days of '98 is that he would be a better choice than most of the other possibilities. The choice of a new managing director to replace Bird is probably more critical, since that person is (I think) responsible for the clubs internal structure.

This is just what we didn't want!Berstein & Bird have turned the club around & we all know the problems that arise from dicking around at the top!!
I feel that Berstein was a great chairman...the voice of reason & not a publicity seeker like a lot of chairman I could mention! He was carefull with the purse strings,yet City were the 2nd highest spenders in the summer & the highest in the january window.This has all happened so suddenly I wonder if it has something to do with the £4M we have to find to finalise the transfer of Foe,specially after the money we spent bringing in Fowler,Sommeil & Belmadi.
