Another good performance by the Frogs tonight in a 1-0 victory over Bakersfield. Record is now 5-1.

Yeah, enjoyed the game tonight, but I think the Frogs were really fortunate to win. Bakersfield was controlling the midfield and the Frogs played back and countered most of the game. But Frog's Goalkeeper Stefan Frei had a solid game. He was MOTM in my view. And Bakersfield shot poorly.
Despite having the lesser of possession the Frogs had some really nice shots in the 2nd half, including one off the top crossbar, by midfielder Hiroki Akiyama I think. And I think Farid hit a nice one-time shot from the left side that the keeper stopped. I'm not sure what happened on the Frog's goal, but it was just before half, and I think it was a long ball that took a fortuitous bounce.

Re: SJ Frogs!!! Part 2
Congratulations to the San Jose Frogs for a phenomenal start to their season, truly the team that is instilling pride in supporters of Bay Area USL soccer.
It's very early days, especially for the San Francisco Seals and if they can repeat the Frogs' result against the Brigade tomorrow afternoon that will be a big step in the right direction for the legendary All Blacks.
The big on-field disappointment for BAUSLS throughout the Bay Area is of course the California Victory, but I take heart from the fact that the fans who have shown up for the home games that I have attended have shown an amazing loyalty and devotion to their new club despite having had little to get excited about.
Returning to the successful Frogs, I hope they get they support they deserve for representing San Jose so well, and I suspect the owners have celebrated all the more based on Stutgart having achieved the "double" in Deutschland. Congratulations from a Werder fan!
I look forward to the home game against San Fernando next weekend.
By the way, those following the English Football League play-offs have seen a couple of highly enjoyable games so far and the game that decides who gets into the Prem is played out tomorrow morning between Derby and West Bromwich, live and free at the Britannia Arms, Cupertino at 6 am. Just let Steve know that you appreciate his dedication in opening up so bright and early every morning during the play-offs and do contribute to his beer fund for all his excellent work.

Re: SJ Frogs!!! Part 2
whats up with the attendance figure for the frogs/brigade game...it says 61!!
I counted about 130 there last night...I know thats not robust (and figured that we lost people to the long weekend and the Vics) but still that it probably the first time I've seen a serious "undercount".
Go Frogs!...and btw for those "quakes" fans out there...the frogs play this sunday at 3PM at PAL against the Fake Quakes from San Fernando valley...good chance to jeer them and cheer on your 1ST PLACE FROGS (5-1 ain't too shabby!)

Hey guys its official the frogs will be playing on July 20th Chivas Guadalajara second division team El Tapatio at 7:30. El Tapatio has a lot of players who have already played with the first team so it will be a great game.

Yeah, I thought there were about 200 people there, though I didn't bother to count. If it's 161 instead of 61 that might make sense.
Regarding the "San Fernando Valley Quakes" there's someone trying to do some marketing for them on the Gals boards. Some Gals fans said that the name doesn't exactly give them an incentive to support the team. Can you imagine SJ Quakes fans supporting a local PDL team named the Galaxy? And to make it worse the SFV Quakes wear SJ Quakes colors too.
The marketing person said it was "coincidence" that the name and colors are essentially the same, but come on, you have to have some sense of awareness about existing brands when you brand a team. It would be like if I read a book, and then sat down to write my own book, and wound up writing virtually the same plot as the book I just read. It may have been unintentional, but it's still dumb. You have to be able to take a look at your product in the context of what else exists in the world.
Anyway, all the more reason to show up and boo the "SFV Quakes".
