BL 05/06 R34 FC Bayern - Borussia Dortmund [R]
We have almost no available defenders. Our midfield is barely old enough to get into a nightclub. Our strikers?...let's just leave it at that. To be honest, the chances of us getting a real kicking are pretty high. But if I have to sit through FC Bayern's title celebrations on Saturday I want us to be able to walk from the field with heads held high. If we can show the same kind of spirit we showed against these guys back in December, or away to Leverkusen before that, then I'll be very proud.

In the states none of those midfielders would get into a nightclub. This does have the potential to be a real ass kicking but hopefully our guys can remain calm and put together a respectable showing.

Of course, I'd forgotten you had to be 21 in the US. All the more amusing...

Though in hindsight it perhaps explains why almost every young American tourist I encounter is so keen to go out and get wasted....

He he, yeah at the moment I'm going with the 'is meant to be playfully tacky' defence. Either that or the club's cost-cutting measures are becoming more rigorous than anyone could have imagined!

Man, am I excited. Going for a dinner tonight (drinking some beer), then directly to the train station and a 10h ride to Munich (drinking much more beer), meeting footyfan1 (drinking some more beer), going to the stadium (drinking a few pints), heading to Munich airport (drinking some water and aspirin), taking flight back to Berlin.
p.s.: Today/tomorrow I somehow don't care whether we loose or not.

10 hour train ride? Is this one of those overnight train deals?

#1 Yes American kids can get quite stupid when abroad.
#2 I hope it is meant to be playfully tacky because if we're in that much financial difficulties I am very nervous! lol

More or less. It is actually the cheapest way to travel to Munich. 30 Euro for a group of 5 (6 Euro each). But you are only allowed to use non-extra charge 2nd class local trains. ;-)
The ICE (high speed train) would take 5h (?) but cost about 70 Euro (?). Just rough guesses.
