Default Sport Club Beira-Mar Thread [R]

Well, Frank's gone, Avi hasn't been around the last couple of days, and Golmirvan has been AWOL for a while, but the show must go on. Beira Mar is in the SuperLiga again, and they now have a thread in the Portugal: Other Liga Clubs sub-forum...

Hello to everyone at Beira-Mar from here in England.

Congatulation on your promotion. What I really wanted to know is how Jorge Leitao is doing. I know he's scored a few times since he returned to Portugal. Does he have a contract for next season ? .

Jorge played for my team Walsall for the past 5 years. He was a real hero here and is really missed.

Everyone here looks out for the Beira-Mar results. Good luck for the SuperLiga

He did well. He was mostly contracted because our revelation of the year, Roma, was out injured, but he proved his worth. He is set to stay on for another year, he hasn't been included in the last of dispensables, and I've heard no rumors about him leaving. He did well. Nothing flashy, but he put away the chances he got. Will he feature in the side next year? Depends a lot on the progress of Carlos Gomes and Artur, and any possible transfers we get in. I think he'd do OK in the league, but I'm not sure if he's got the pace for it with his age. We'll see what happens!

Yeah, I heard that you lost your other forward as well shortly after he departed. Did you end up getting relegated or still in the same division?

Yes, we lost our England under 19 international Matty Fryatt to Leicester City at the same time. As a result of lossing him and Jorge we did not score enough goals and got relegated to the 4th tier of English football.

It really hurts ! We were in the Championship two years ago.

Ouch.

Why would your management let clubs talk to both your forwards though? Doesn't make sense.

Beira-Mar's Wegno

Beira-Mar are also currently looking to secure Diakite, who has brought interest from Lyon.

It didn't make sense at all, not to anyone. We think that the club was in need of money and desperate to cut salaries. It was also suggested that a replacement was lined up which failed to materialise before the transfer window closed.

The manager responsible (the (in)famous Paul Merson) is no longer with us and is looking for a job!

Jorge Vidigal is Beira-Mar's second incoming transfer of the new season.

Mede 1.76m e pesa 77kg.

Looks like a good player to place on the right, given Ribeiro's age. Good pick-up for the position IMO. Hope we get a playmaker soon though!

Jorge Silva, the captain, has signed on for another 2 seasons with the club. Ale, the young Brazilian goalkeeper, has signed on for another year with one optional. And Marco has also signed on for another year. The only question mark remaining in terms of renovations is that over Pavel Srnicek's head as he is still in the Czech Republic, as granted to him.
