Leicester City to change name to Leicester Fosse???
http://www.forfoxsake.com/news/archi...203/130203.htm
In the club's press conference to announce the club leaving administration, new Chairman John Holmes suggested that the club could change its name back to Leicester Fosse... the fans would vote on such a move...
I don't know... sounds kinda cool, sounds kinda new-yet-historical... but still... I'll have to think about this one.

The Cunning Fosse?
It sounds classy, yet, kinda odd at the same time. I was reading that article this morning as well; it would be weird for a while, but it's a name I'd have to adjust to.

I said the same thing after I heard about the press conference
Anyway, the vote will be on Saturday at the Wimbledon game... all fans will have a card with two colors, and the Birch will come on at halftime and ask the fans to show their choice.

The vote's one day away... yesterday I was sure that the fans would stick with City, now I'm not so sure, some fans seem to be warming up to the idea... New Fox chairman John Holmes has reiterated his case for Fosse, and he's got a good argument...

Well it's halftime at the Walkers... 2-0 to Leicester City on two Dickov penalties...
...and at the halftime "vote," an overwhelming show in favor of "CITY"

Leicester Fosse was City's name from 1884-1919. The name "Fosse" comes from the Roman Fosse Way that runs through Leicester. When the club started, they played near the Fosse Way. In 1919, Leicester Fosse went bankrupt, were taken over but a new group and renamed "City" to celebrate Leicester earning City status that year.

In that case, I vote City...it sounds like a source of local pride...Fosse just seems to be a random selection.

Thanks.
I was wondering what Bob Fosse had to do with Leicester.
