Arne Friedrich at CB
Something to think about...surely Arne COULD do better than our options at CB. And he has shown that playing RB for Germany he has been a liability at times. What I suggest is maybe do something like this:
Lahm--------Friedrich--------Merte------------Jansen
And for defensive purposes
Lahm--------Friedrich--------Merte------------Fathi
I think Friedrich ought to have a chance. However, he has never played well at CB despite the fact that he has seemingly all the attributes to be a decent CB (good heading, good anticpation [compared to the other backs] and good tackling). But he has never worked there. Maybe comfort thing? I dunno. Input?

Re: Arne Friedrich at CB
I don't mind Friedrich taking the trial for this position in the friendly against the States.

Re: Arne Friedrich at CB
Good game against USA...probably his best performance, although Convey gave him some troubles. But Metzi gave a good performance too, by far his best performance since coming back.

Re: Arne Friedrich at CB
Convey tricked him very often,
good, that the defense players helped each other.
