Reyna has left today's Man City match in the 66th min with an injury. I do not have any further details at the moment.
hobbling... sprained something or other...muscle pull... sounds like it's not major.... say he's out 3 weeks, gets 3 weeks of action, then gets into training camp??
Perhaps all those "does anybody seriously believe JOB will be ready" threads might need to be edited a bit...
IMHO, i believe a "Reyna-less" USMNT has a 50% less chance of succeeding in Germany than one with him (and i mean the Germany WC, not the friendly) HE is that important IMO....and we have not been able yet to find a consistent capable replacement to what he brings....
Mastroeni can fill in the dmid position, but our options are then severely limted in how we can shift our players around. Donovan up front will be almost impossible without Obrien or reyna.
at d-mid/holding mid....there are 3 guys I trust... mastroeni, reyna and o'brien... after that at the finals level, it gets murky... so no JOB and NO reyna means trouble, and arena will need to make a MAJOR tactical switch....
Don't agree with the first part though it does mean that our tactics must be substantially different. I do however agree with the second part. We have yet to find any replacement for Reyna.
Actually, Donovan played a very "Reyna-like" game against Poland. But I still hope Reyna is available.
Looks like he fell poorly on his right shoulder though I don't know how that makes him hobble off the pitch. So hopefully nothing too serious http://home.skysports.com/matchreport.asp?fxid=278897&cpid=8
i think reyna, o'brien should just change their sport to chess or something...maybe soccer isn't meant to be for them...
i really don't think so...LD does not play much like CR... if Reyna is good at givingn the US some kind of a rythm.....i just do not knowv (and still don't) what the heck the US midfield/LD was doing that first half....
They don't sound too concerned but still up in the air http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?p...ommonth=1&fromyear=2006&tomonth=3&toyear=2006
Yeah well, they weren't too concerned when he busted the ankle. The care at citeh seems to be of the "rub some dirt on it" school.
this may be closer to the mark than some would like to believe.....I have mentioned this story before ( a year or so back) and the source is impeccable...There is an American playing in one of the top two divisions in England who, when describing his teams training room said...."The most modern and most functional piece of equipment in the place is..... ......the tea kettle".....
