That really sucks. I truly feel bad for Basti, with all the injuries and personal problems he's had to deal with. I wish him all the best in his recovery.

Yup, all the very best Basti. You'll still be able to play for Euro 2008 and the next world cup and you will be stronger!

Re: Deisler out for 6 month = no WC
Wow, this sucks for Germany, I've always been a fan of his. It's really unfortunate that a player of his ability has had such injury and off-the-field problems. On a side note, I assume he was starting for the national team, who will take his place in midfield?

Piotr Trochowski (left), and Schweini (right).

Very unlikely to happen though. (Though I'd like to see Trochowski in the NT, it likely won't happen until after the WC).
Schneider, Frings, Borowski, and Schweini could all place @ RM.
One possibility is Schneider and Frings as RMs with Schweini and Boro as LMs.

That´s very sad, especially for him.
Hope he can come over it mentally.

Re: Deisler out for 6 month = no WC
It is indeed terrible news for the German NT and any hopes for going far in the tournament. He has been one of the few outstanding german players this season and would have been a really great asset to Germany. It's always a shame when one of your set starters is out like this....Deisler is one unlucky guy. A real blow....
At least now this should open a sure spot for Kehl on the NT if anything.
