I find it downright awful about the whole World situation. I happen to be a fan of English football. However, the lack of available information online is atrocious. I can't go to most of the team's websites. I can't look at who are the players, a history of the team, or read any of the news articles about the teams. I can only get some of this information from outside sources. I don't support one team so I don't have just one overriding wish to pay this money for one team. But I'm not going to pay 72 times just for this information. This situation must change.

I think you only have to register, not pay, to use the sites. However as I don't want to register I don't, so maybe there's very little on there now if you don't pay. Most clubs have unofficial sites (searching for club name and "unofficial" often does the trick) and they are often better than the official sites anyway.
Rivals.net is a site with pages for every pro team in England, with news as well. There will often be links to better unofficial sites as well. Be warned that the message boards do attract more than their fair share of teenage keyboard warriors though.

You only have to register (which is free) once, to gain access to all the official club sites in the English Nationwide.
The World scheme is a pay service to recieve match highlights, sound bytes, and "up-to-the-minute" news on a selected club. To be honest, its floundering, and I know alot of dis-satidifed customers of the service.

Unofficial sites can be the best answer - there are some really good ones.

I would suggest a starting point as the excellent www.footballgroundguide.co.uk - it lists known unofficial site, and gives you a fair bot of information off the cuff to boot!!

I would also avoid Rivals like the plague!!

Only register? Well, it seemed to me that I tried that before and they wanted money. Anyway, at the least there is serious control of video highlights as well as radio commentary. For example, I listen to the BBC World Service and they have a show on at 9:00 ET on Saturdays just before the games start. But I can't listen to it because the rights holder won't allow people to listen to interviews with the coaches or the hosts talking about the matches. It's ridiculous and I seem to remember that the show isn't about football alone.

Okay. I signed up for the Palace site I could listen to the Leeds match on Saturday. However, I can't seem to find the match commentary section.

Yes, well I signed up for the the regular web site which doesn't have the live feeds. And of course, the Leeds website has commentary on 4 hour delay. They don't make it easy for the person who has no allegiance. Sure if you were born with a sword on your chest then you will be a Charlton fan for the rest of us, we want the sites back for free.
