Die Nationalmannschaft Strengths and Weaknesses
I want Mannschaft fans opinions on what are the strengths and weaknesses of this team. I personally think the biggest concern should be our defense it's young and inexpierenced. It's seems since Klinnsmann introduced a more attacking style, that we get burned on the counter attack. Everyone except fans of the Mannschaft, thinks we will struggle and not make it past the Quarters in the World Cup. I think different however, German teams are known for their mental toughness and fighting to the last whistle. Plus we are playing on home soil so I think the fan support will give us a boost, with support though comes pressure. I think if we don't win this is will be a failure and cause National dissapointment. Getting back to the defense, I can't understand why we struggle with it in the past we were known for being a good defensive grind it out, Northern European style team. All I can say is never underestimate a German team in an International tournament, our will to win is immense. I'm going to end with two quotes that sum it all up John Harkes said " Germany is by a mile the best side I've ever played. They are so fast, so strong, so organized" another by Beckenbaur on why Germany is so successful "The German mentality is stronger than that of other nations... it's not that they play better soccer"

Re: Mannschaft Strengths and Weaknesses
It's "Die Nationalmannschaft", nobody says just "Mannschaft".
Sorry, had to correct that!

I wish someone would tell that to the Dutch media... they keep calling them 'Der Mannschaft'. Sukkels, as they say in Holland.
After yet another entertaining display tonight, I can think of a few other names...

Re: Mannschaft Strengths and Weaknesses
Our first thing to fix is the defence, which is going to take work. Someones either going to have to smack them into shape or we'll have to bring others in. (even though we dont have anyone else)

Re: Die Nationalmannschaft Strengths and Weaknesses
in all seriousness, at this point Germany would be best off going into the WC with a Woerns-Metzelder pairing. I also like Gregoriak's idea of a 3-5-2 with Friedrich alongside the former.
