Matches - Feb 24
Wow - was my schedule ever front loaded. I got the crap kicked out of me the first three games and I was thinking about mailing it in by selling some of the players and banking the cash to rebuild in Div IV. Then - I get the three minows and run off three straight. Now I am sitting in fourth (likely bounce back down to fifth this week) and things are looking pretty good for staying up.
I am still selling one of my better batsman. However, he is 29 and has crap for Stamina and Conc. I know the rule changes would make it easier to boost him up soon but I really need the help with the bowling and this guy has fallen to be my sixth best batsman as the youngins have passed him by.
Pretty good stats - Batting, bowling, and WK all above Med.
Ken Gould (74763)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, proficient batting form, superb bowling form, energetic
A steady player with strong leadership skills and feeble experience.

Battrick Rating: 13,381
Wages: £3,390 p/w

Re: Matches - Feb 24
I whomped a bot 391-130. This was the first time I had the time to stay up until past one to see how these games unfold. I liked what I saw. I'd been having troubles figuring out who to lead off with, but the two I put up didn't get out over 50 overs, so I guess I've found a solution. I chose to bat first and my net run rate took a big, healthy jump forward as a result.
It's been a good day

End of Over 29: 79-10, runrate=2.72
Gardner 4-0-7-2
Ardley* 15 (31 balls)
won the toss, elected to field. my spinner doesn't like to take wickets, but he only gave up 6 runs from 5 overs.

Re: Matches - Feb 24
Good bowling performance to bowl out my opponent for 163, although they got those runs VERY quickly.
The batting has been poor thus far though
End of Over 17: 79-3, runrate=4.65, reqrunrate=2.58 (163-10)
only just recovering from losing 3 wickets relatively quickly.
I think I'm going to rest several key players in my cup match because I don't think I've got any chance whatsoever.

End of Over 31: 178-4, runrate=5.74, reqrunrate=1.68 (209-10)
Looks like I'll win. I am a bit disappointed that my strong/prof 18yo batter only scored 4 runs though.

Re: Matches - Feb 24
managed to win it and cemented my position in 2nd. I next play 1st place at the end of the season, I am confident I'll be the better team then. I guess if things go right and the other DII leaders don't all go undefeated I'll have a shot at promotion.

Re: Matches - Feb 24
Woohoo! I pulled an upset victory over a very tough team by playing a GFI. I had set my top two batsmen to bat aggressively and they combined for 220 runs and gave my top order a strong rating. My first strong rating ever.

Managed a win in the 46th over by 5 wickets. Might not have happened if they'd have gotten one of those last two batters out.

Re: Matches - Feb 24
A second straight thriller for Norse ends in... a tie! Both teams finished with 292 runs in 50 completed overs. Another great club appearance for Seargeant, going for 150+ not out for the second consecutive match.
