Opening cermonies are Friday night.

It's a little corny, but I love the Parade of Nations at the opening ceremony.

I'll also watch every second of the figure skating, and as much as everything else as I can. esp. speed skating, downhill skiing and hockey.

Nah its one of my fav parts of the Olympics esp when countries only have one or two athletes

I like watching pretty much any winter sport that has speed. Skiing (downhill, slalom, super-G, ski jumping), speed skating, bobsled, luge. Olympic ice hockey is generally more exciting than the NHL, and each game means more.

It's slightly annoying that the host city has become "Torino", when the English word is already Turin. The World Cup is advertised here as being in Germany, not Deutschland, for example. But then I guess the average American has probably never even heard of Turin to begin with.
