MLS Fantasy Game????
Is anyone going to do a MLS fantasy game like we did with EPL?... Dunno is yahoo or sportsline will host a game, but if anyone is interested in getting a game together let me know, I'd be interested in playing if we have enough BS posters who are interested...

Yahoo's contest is a little cumbersome for my tastes, quite a number of BS posters usually get involved with http://www.mfls.com/
It is not as fluid as premierleague.com (cyki) but it is a good solid alternative.

Jay and I are already talking about creating a second account, name (perhaps using our wife's or our dog's names) and have a private MFLS league where we hold the draft just like we did at premiershipsoccer.com. Then we just use their system and impose our internal competitions on top of that. But, in this league, no player can be on two teams.
These draft and player limited teams would not be participants in the overall MFLS prize competitions. We'd still enter our main team in those competitions.

For our MFLS Draft League, it looks like the following players have already reserved teams:
Hal
DrJones24
kopiteinkc
Captain Splarg
Darr
Do you think we should just take one more and go with a 6 team league, or try to stretch our rosters for the added competition of 8 teams? I'm worried that we would each be fielding multiple "bench players" every game in that case, but if we are all in the same boat, it might be a fun extra challenge. The free agent pool would be next to useless though. The more I think about it, the more I think a 6 team league is probably the way to go. MFLS doesn't have the auto sub rule like CYKI, so it'll be even tougher already.
So we need one more manager, basically.

Well MFLS is up and the new rules are explained on their site. One possible problem I noticed is that they say they will automatically combine small division (private or public) once the season starts, so that all divisions will be of around 20 teams. That would pretty much make our "Draft Division" kind of confusing to look at.
I'll email them and see if they can make an exception, explaining why we'd want to keep it to 6 teams. Otherwise, we could perhaps set up a site just for the League Standings.
Oh, and we definitely need to keep it to 6 teams. Rosters this year are 18 players! That's 108 roster spots in a 6 team league, while there's only 110 starting roster spots in all of MLS. When you figure in all the platoon positions on most teams (20%?), it's going to be very interesting to keep our lineups filled with active players. This is doubly important due to the penalties for non-active players.

I'd be glad to host such a site, web space is no problem.

Should we shoot for 2?
If there is enough interest, we could shoot for two private 6-team draft divisions.
Anyone that starts needs to commit to staying active and finishing. It's a bummer for anyone to put their time in this when 1-2 teams drop out. For a draft league it's hard to have a new manager come in.
