Me and some friends (Chaz_Striker if you remeber his poor quality posts being one of them) are taking a trip from May 29 to June 27 this summer involving London, Manchester, the Lake District, Edinburgh, Dublin, Barcelona.

I was wondering if any of you Europeans (or American travelers) had any advice about these cities and stuff we should do or just anything in general.

Also, definatelly staying in Manchester 1 night so we can do the stadium tour etc. but is there enough in the area to stay 2 nights or no?

What type of things do you want to do and what do you like?
(other than watching the WC)

Will be watching alot of football of course (the second half of the trip at least) and trying to get tickets to the England friendly on the 30th (if not still jet lagged...). Otherwise, like to look at stuff, meseums, all that I think we can figure out ourselves.

I dunno, just anything interesting not to be missed or just general advice. I'm not much help I guess. Good (cheap) pubs are always good.

edit: clubs too

I'll have you covered for the Edinburgh stint and will post stuff up later on. The more detailed you are the better though. In terms of pubs/clubs, is there anything you lot prefer in terms of setting and music?

Striker, I may also be visiting England in late May with one of my friends and we plan to go to England's game against Hungary as well @ Wembley. I think it's May 30.

Don't go to the Lakes because it's crap. Hills, rain and sheep thats it...oh and moody people and ramblers.

Come to Newcastle instead, much more fun.

I also figured this thread could serve as general Travel thread for the forum, since we have everything else, might as well have one of these.

On clubs, not sure, a variety would be nice in different cities, we won't have tons of money but a fews nights out (in clubs that is) should suffice our money.
Definatelly good dancing music, Electronica and Hip Hop mostly. I know those are not good descriptions but I'm not quite sure of the categories your looking for, Tesos.

Stud, we can plan to meet up sometime in that case, its a ways away but would be good to meet some other posters on here in real life.

Toon2, really? Heard it was supposed to be good and relaxing, we figured maybe that we would need a break after doing the London thing. Is that not suggested generally from Englanders?

Hey Striker, if you need to know where toon lives I can point it out to you and you can do a surprise drop-by.
