Re: The Movie Thread
I watched "Bed and Sofa", a Russian black-and-white from the twenties, on Wednesday evening, if anyone would be interested in this sort of thing.

Is that a new code phrase for "staring at Masha Sharapova eating banana for 2 hours straight"?

Re: The Movie Thread
I watched Silence of the Lambs again last night. Even though I've seen it a hundred times, it still scares me to death. There's a window behind my sofa, and I kept getting paranoid, looking back over my shoulder -- I felt like a crazy person.
I think what scares me the most, and this might be a strange, is the scene where the girl is rocking out in her car to Tom Petty and really singing right before she's abducted. I think it scares me, because I do that all the time in my car (Tom Petty's Greatest Hits is actually one of my favorite road trip CDs too). And I would totally help that guy with his sofa, no question. It gives me that feeling that it could happen to me. And most horror movies or thrillers don't give me that feeling at all.
But I do also love the movie because I always find something new in it. Like last night, I noticed that early in Clarice's interview of him, before they ever mention Buffalo Bill, Lecter talks about the Belvedere hotel in Florence, and Belvedere is the name of the town at the end of the film where Clarice catches the guy. So it makes me think that Lecter knows from the very beginning what Crawford wants from him, and he's already starting to toy with everyone. Awesome, just awesome.

Re: The Movie Thread
I watched Crash last night and was rather dissappointed with it. It got good ratings on imdb, but I thought it wasn't that good at all.

Re: The Movie Thread
I'd recommend the Matador. Its darkly funny, but an enjoyable watch.
