Pick who is your selection for all-time best DC United Left Defender, while with DC United. The criteria is up to you: minutes, quility over a length of time, most brilliant moment, likeability, etc. If your favorite is not on the list, then we can have a challenge knock-off election in a subsequent thread. Re: Offseason XI: Part II: Left Defender I'll accept at this time nominations for right defender. I think a list might look like Jason Bent, Matt Crawford, Christopher Dawes, Antonion de la Torre, Wes Hart, David Vaudreuil, Matt Kmosko, Scott Vermillion, Timmy Martin, Jeff Stewart, Seth Trembly. Any thoughts on this list? Amendments?
Re: Offseason XI: Part II: Left Defender Kotschau, no question in my mind at all. I don't recall Jason Bent ever playing on the left. Note that you may want to edit the first line of your post to read "Rapids."
Relative to the upcoming season, does Wingert have the skills and speed to be effective at left back ?
I'm pretty sure Clavijo has him tabbed as a forward in the new 4-0-6 formation he's tinkering with. I voted Kotschau because he's really had the longest tenure at the left back position of any of those guys. Not to mention his contribution in the playoffs vs. Dallas. Probably one of the most memorable goals by a Colorado defender not named Balboa. Also, Hanki, wouldn't Chris Martinez be up for right back? I know he tended to just play a marking back in Mooch's system, but he wasn't really a center back nor a sweeper, that kinda just leaves right back for him.
