Next match for Canada: Libya
Discuss Libya.
I know nothing about the players on the team, but they are ranked in the top 100... I believe....
Canada should be able to get most of their European players for the game. Hopefully.....

We should definitely have all our first team players, as it's an "international date" by FIFA. I'm sure we won't see many of the youngsters we saw vs. USA. I'm guessing De Rosario will still be out. Hopefully they can reach Jazic this time, and I'd also like to see Fernando Aguiar.

I'm guessing Canizalez might be the only newcommer from the US match that might be part of the squad. Possibly Friend & Hutchison. But at least this time they will be surrounded by veterans rather than other inexperienced players.

Well so who do we want?
I would say a defence of:
----------------------Hirschfeld------------
----McKenna----Menezes-----DeVos
is almost a must. We've never tried it. They should all be available and healthy (touch wood). Our backline has been our biggest problem in the last few games and I want to see how that trio looks. We have all of the pieces to play a back four, but if this works I think we can stick with it because it gives us a much more dynamic midfield.
add: Stalteri, DeGuzman, Imhof, Bent, Nsawila, Brennan, Jazic, Reda, Radzinski, Stamatopolous, Aguiar and some other forward.
That's 16 and I'm not too sure about the other forward. DeRo's out and I wouldn't be too upset to see Xausa or Pesch get a chance to team with Radzinski, but I think it would be more valuable to see a younsgter like Belotte, Hume or Friend get a look.
I don't expect Aguiar will get called and if he doesn't we could take both an old and a young forward or add some defensive depth (Klukowski?). I know I left Hastings off, but we know what Richard can do largely and since I wouldn't start him and we have a couple of left-sided players who could play in the back in a pinch (say Jazic or Brennan) I think we can live without him.
After the US friedly I would like to see something more closely resembling our starting team so we can start to get more familiar with each other and what and where Holger wants them to play.
So yeah not a lot of youth, but we should try to settle our starting 11 a little more before we start to experiment too much.
Oh and I didn't forget Marty Nash. I think he deserves a look in one of the two friendlies, but I would rather see him settle in at Macclesfield first.
So who's your 16. What should we be trying to achieve against Lybia. How many youth, how many vets? any specific players you really want to see called?
cheers,
hobbes

If Kadofi's son plays Canada will win 10-0 As it is with you best players it should be a yank like score line.

I would love to see Pesch called back to the Canadian squad, but as you said, it would be better to see some young talents. I believe the last game Pesch played for Canada was against Malta in 2001.
