Default New training strategy

As first class matches will start next season and undoubtedly stamina will become even more important, I have switched my training regimen for the short term.

I have switched to 10 fitness trainers and have 10 different players training stamina, they are all 21 and under. Mostly 18 and 19 actually.

I have no trainable 17 yos so far.

I only did a small amount of stamina training in season 1 and managed to get a bowler and a batsman up to mediocre and competent. Since then I have done zero stamina and it shows.

My goal is to get 11 starters upto at least mediocre stamina (some higher, like a couple of all rounders). Then switch back to primary skill training.

I think my team will improve in the long run and will be ready for first class matches next season as a result of this switch.

I would imagine it will take most of this season to do this effectively.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan, although I might give some players two sessions instead of one. If you got your best batsmen and bowlers up more quickly, you'd probably benefit.

Ouch!

Edit: actually thinking about it maybe the changes wont hurt you too bad. At least you'll have 5/6 weeks to get that lot to a decent level before the changes kick in. Guess you wont be training them all season now though...

Right and they are all relatively young. Get the training in now before it speeds up at week 8.

Then switch some of the stamina slots to the older guys and back to primary skills for the younger guys.

I've got decent stamina for 3 primary players and I'm training a couple of others up... but I'm not going to interupt my schedule for it... especially with the changes since younger trainees won't train mental stuff as quick as before. I'm trying to make sure I get a few pops there before the switch. I'll just use 2 stamina nets at a time and try to get others up to where they need to be.

Stamina training is so slow it is really bugging me.

Once we get to week 8 and slows further I am going with the strategy of developing uber-players instead.
