Does No Passport Number = Screwed?
I submitted an application for 2 tickets: one for me and one for my son. I don't have a Passport # for my son so I left it blank for his ticket. (I have my number on my ticket). I see in other threads that people did not do this. Instead they used someone with a known Passport # and they plan to switch the ticket holder at a later date.
I am just interested in what you guys think. Will they reject my application because I left one Passport # blank. In other words, am I screwed?

I don't think so--but I would have written on the form that you intend to get a passport for this person.
FIFA needs to have passport numbers when they allocate the tickets. And somebody had asked USSF about expired passports, and USSF said something along the lines of--write down that you intend to get the passport renewed by Jan. 30th, and it should be ok. They also said that the passport number has to be in to USSF by January 30 at noon or the tickets would be forfeited. I would imagine this would also be for those who don't have passport numbers at all.
I would call USSF just to make sure, though.

Re: Does No Passport Number = Screwed?
You can give them your passport number for your son. From the FAQ:
Quote:
15. Will I need to provide a passport for my child who will be attending a match with me?
According to the official 2006 FIFA World Cup website, “the preferred solution would be to fill in the order form with the child’s own ID or passport number.” Click here for more information on applying for a U.S. Passport for a child under 14.
However, the website also states, “as an alternative the ID or passport number of one of the child’s parents will also be acceptable. In such a case, your order form will not be refused due to multiple personal data.”
Therefore, for the purpose of the ussoccerfan.com pre-sale order form and the information U.S. Soccer must provide to FIFA, a parent’s ID or passport number will be sufficient. However, the child will still need to be issued a valid passport in order to travel to and from Germany.

Re: Does No Passport Number = Screwed?
Thanks you guys for the advice. I will contact USSF as Etienne suggests, and post their response if I get one. Pip- thanks for posting that text from the instructions. It certainly suggests that I will not be rejected-- I did include my number. I can probably stop worrying.

I put "pending" for my passport number. Will they just throw it away? I don't get my passport number until January 20!

Re: Does No Passport Number = Screwed?
One thing to remember with both FIFA and USSF is that they don't have access to the state department's passport database. The passport numbers are for IDing people at the gate. I know sombody who used made up passport numbers at earlier stages, got tickets, and plans to make a "corection" later when he knows who is using the tickets. FIFA says this can be done.
