How do we want to do this, Italian America?
You think the WC draw was bad for you, US fan? Hell, at least your rooting interests are straightforward.
Unfortunately, it gets a little complicated for us Italian-Americans. Obviously, I'm going to be pulling for the US when we play Italy, but it's not going to be without reservations. For one, my dad (an honest-to-god Italian) is getting on in years, and he'd like to see Italy win the big one (or at least a big one--I think he'd settle for a Euro Championship) once more before his time is up. For two, there are undoubtedly a bunch of numbnutses on this board who are going to be talking crap about how the Italians are whining, diving, preening sissies who lack testicular fortitude because they often play for the 1-0 result. (Yeah, because instead of trying to, you know, win, they should be sending 10 guys into attack at all times for your entertainment. What a bunch of pu$$ie$.) Anyway, those people are highly annoying (they're already starting to surface) and they make me a little less jazzed about rooting for the US.
But whatever. I'm just praying the both the US and Italy go through. I'm pretty bummed out that they're going to have to play one another, though. Anyone else experiencing this same inner turmoil? I feel like Giuseppe Rossi.

Isn't Claudio Italian-Argentinian-American. i.e. ethnically Italian parents from Argentina who came to America?

His father is from Argentina, but Reyna is a Spanish surname. His mother is from Portugal.

I thought Reyna was born in Uruguay.
