I'd love to see a fully fit Robbie Fowler at Maine Rd,but unless the board are bluffing I can't see us affording his wages (approx £40,000 per week!) KK has said all along that he'll be looking overseas for new players but maybe the board have learnt some savvy and are just playing their cards close to their chest! BTW....LOVE your avitor! Sadly,my dad passed away the same day as Joe,I hope they didn't meet each other on their way up 'cos my dad didn't share my love of the Clash!!!

Sorry about your dad...

Yeah, Fowler in Blue would be great, in my opinion, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. They seem to be doing well enough lately, so I figure they may hold onto their money a bit longer to see who else may be available.

Seems like the Fowler affair has cooled off..
My guess is that Fowler has to take a big wage cut at City and isn't ready to do that.

I still don't think it makes a lot of sense.

If Fowler plays it would probably be at the expense of the Goat. Goater has 6 goals already this season and costs a small fraction of Fowler's wages. Also, I think Goater would be the only striker on the team older than Fowler, so it's not a move toward youth.

Ask Steve Nicol about the value of Fowler. You guys are getting one of the greatest strikers around. Injuries have caused a little slump, but if he get's back to the old Fowler, expect BIG things.

Ay, there's the rub.
What he'll cost is fairly certain. What City will get for their money is another matter entirely. There are plenty of players who never made it back after a down stretch like Fowler's had.
My point is that for City, it's a high risk, high cost deal.

Default Fowler deal off

Fowler passes the medical but the decides to stay at Leeds...

Can't say i'm to unhappy about these news. £7M is a lot of money for a club like City and if they where going to spend that kind of money there are better alternatives than Fowler IMHO.
