Osieck wants another CONCACAF nation at World Cup
"TORONTO (CP) -- Canadian coach Holger Osieck has added his voice to the push to get CONCACAF, the soccer confederation that covers North and Central America and the Caribbean, another place at the World Cup finals table."
http://www.canoe.ca/Slam021213/soc_osi-cp.html
I don't think CONCACAF deserves another full spot just yet. Perhaps a half spot would be more justified.

And a half-a-spot it is:

Folks in Canada, Jamaica, Honduras, etc., have to be happy with an added chance. Assuming the FC doesn't change our qualifying tournament, getting to the final round is an even bigger deal now (with even 4th place having a good chance at the WC). The semifinal rounds in 2004 are gong to be quite interesting.

This is great news for concacaf. I feel that we are a much stronger region than Asia. Our 4th best team is much better than most of their teams.
