Last Saturday was the best day since 2000 to be a Leicester City fan. Everything went right for them.

First, the administrators announced that they had accepted the Lineker consortium's bid. Lineker and Co. will probably have to spend several weeks completing the move, but Leicester City do have a buyer and they are looking to go out of administration. This may be too late for the club to avoid selling players in January, but we'll have to wait and see.

Then, Leicester went out and thrashed Millwall, 4–1. Super Steve Claridge got one against his former team just 18 seconds in after the Leicester defense broke down, but after that it was all Leicester. The Foxes looked great in front of a near sell-out crowd, who enjoyed sticking the win in Dennis Wise and Mark McGhee's faces.

Also, Portsmouth drew at Stoke City. Forest, Norwich, Wolves and Reading all lost. This helped Leicester pull within five points of league leaders Portsmouth and nine points clear of third place (two of the four teams tied on points have a game in hand, though).

At the halfway mark, Leicester have 48 points in 23 games.
