Default OM 2-1 Troyes : Second victory!

OM 2-1 Troyes : Second victory!
OM won Sunday its second season’s victory in championship in the same week, and moreover its first victory at home since beginning of season, thanks to goals from Ribery and Lamouchi.

OM 2-1 TROYES
1-0 Ribéry (22nd)
2-0 Lamouchi (35th)
2-1 Grax (55th, sp)

September is more successful than August for Olympians. Two matches in a week, two great matches. And OM climbs and keeps climbing. Slowly but surely. 20th position is far now. On the contrary to first part of ranking, which is far from only two points. Mediterranean should not wait long before reaching it if they continue to play like the first period against Troyes.
Their start could even be perfect if the goal scored by Gimenez in the first minute wasn’t refused because of off-side. Frustration past away when at 22nd minute Ribery used a powerful free kick from Taiwo slowed down by the wall and prolonged by Niang. The midfielder then had good gestures and stayed cool headed to pass trough the goalkeeper and score.

The goal made official the OM’s exclusive domination. Into the bargain it encouraged it to begin like this. The Mediterranean team then showed a smiling face. There were movement, passes and even a Papin style’s shot from Lamouchi! It was 35th minute and Taiwo shot a long and precise pass like he knows how to do. Who was catching it? Gimenez? Niang ? No ! Lamouchi. And the attacker’s position goes with an attacker’s gesture : a splendid shot from right foot which directly went to the Le Crom’s top corner. A piece of art, both for balance and precision. The difference was made.
Unfortunately, like bad weather soon had a harmful effect on the ground and playing conditions, next of the match was less shining for Marseille. Even if they were less punchy in early second period, they above all underwent unpredictable Troyes’return, thanks to a litigious penalty. A little bit like Ferreira against Ajaccio, the Taiwo’s fault was only obvious to the referee. Which was unfortunately enough for Troyes’ happiness, and for Grax who transformed (55th).
This goal created a certain feverishness in the olympians’ ranks. We felt them unease face to their adversary’s birthing ardour. This fear of equalisation, a bit too obvious, disappeared in the last fifteen minutes when they took back their destiny into hands. Samir Nasri’s coming (like last Thursday against Belgium) largely took part of this dynamic. Even if OM didn’t scored a final goal, despite two beautiful occasions for Gimenez and Nasri, it lives more serenely its last moments till the final whistle.

OM 2-1 Troyes : Reactions
Olympians were delighted with this first season’s victory in Ligue 1 at home. After the success won at Sochaux, OM plays full since two matches and climbs in the ranking.

Sabri Lamouchi : «I am lucky to score »

“We were waiting for this first victory. I am lucky to score and lucky to see things ended up nicely even if we mostly saw Troyes in late second period. We deserved our victory. We get occasions in first period. In second halftime we didn’t achieve to score, we doubted. Troyes played higher and put more pressure on us. We began to doubt and then came penalty.
We should have killed the game but what really count is that we took three victory’s points. This makes you feel good.”

Pape Diouf : « This is good for the moral”

I feel relieved but I also was worry with the audience after a penalty, once again very litigious, whistled against us. Thus, victory has a particularly good taste. I am delighted to register our second successive success. This is good for the moral and for the ranking.
This first period is the best we had in championship. In second period, we had a lack of energy legitimate after the Uefa Cup’s match we had Thursday in Belgium. First period is like a reference.

Jean Fernandez : «We made the most difficult before the break.”

We made a very good first period, we made a good coming in the match. We had a lot of occasions and we scored twice. We made the most difficult against the break. In second period we deled with the result trying to score an other. Unfortunately there is a referee decision, terrible when I look back at the pictures. After the imaginary penalty against Ajaccio, this is a lot. The referee put pressure on us in second halftime. When one has 2-1, one never knows if one must attacks, defends. Our situation was ambiguous. Despite all of that, we could have scored an other goal on counter. The referee ruined second period because we were able to continue in the first one’s rhythm.
These are three important points. We deserved to take them against Ajaccio. Players were determined to continue after the Sochaux’s victory. We absolutely have to beat Troyes. We have two successive victories, it’s good for the team and for the club. But difficult matches are waiting for us, to begin with Toulouse.

Cédric Carrasso : «We should have protect ourselves more rapidly”
Six points in two matches is good. This caught up our bad season’s beginning. We are going to take a good recuperation before Toulouse to make a result out there. 2-1 is not like 2-0… It’s hard to keep being serene after a referee’s fault. Unconsciously, one goes back because one is afraid of another mistake. We were less productive. We should have protected ourselves more rapidly. We once again suffered at the end.

Mamadou Niang : «What really count sis the three points. »
We knew we were going to suffer. We were not as good in first, but what really counts is the three points. We showed we were good, we could play as one, we could push Troyes in its 18 meters. We scored two goals, we thought we had achieved the toughest but after the penalty we were under pressure.

Samir Nasri : «a very good match’s start»
We suffered in the last minutes. We had a very good match’s start by scoring two goals. The referee was painful to us by whistling the penalty and then Troyes pushed a lot but the essential was made. We handled it, had a lot of occasions, we could have killed the game but we didn’t do it.

OM 2-1 Troyes: Echoes
Cesar’s injury, null of Germinal Beerschot, the battle against Mucoviscidose. And also the old Olympians with the publication of the Edouard Kula ‘s book (with Jean Ferrara). Our echoes …

SPRAIN FOR CESAR?
Cesar should have an ankle sprain, indicated Jean Fernandez at the end of the match. The defender, who held his place until the end, left the stadium with crutches. His evening had better begun with this Slovenien flag agitated as a welcome committee in the Ultras.

BEERSCHOT MATCH
Sunday evening, Germinal Beerschot made a 1-1, at home, against Louvière. The adversary of OM in UEFA Cup had opened the mark by Wree, at the 10th minute. But Oulai equalized, at the 24th.

“I WAS NUMBER 5"
In the book entitled "I was the number 5", Edouard Kula recalls us, under the Jean Ferrara ‘s feather of, how OM of Marcel Leclerc managed to put an end to the supremacy of Saint-Etienne of Roger Rocher, at the beginning of the Seventies.
Subtitled "this team which made dream Marseilles", this album revives the small one and the great history of the titles of champion conquered into 71 and 72, and of 72 Cup.
An story with many anecdotes. It will be published by Barbanza editions. After the match, Edouard Kula could remind some good memories with some of his former partners like Josip Skoblar, Joseph Bonnel or Jules Zvunka at the time of the after-match dinner, in the living room of the president.

OM STAR CLUB WON IN VALLIER
OM Star Club beat a selection FSGT on the score of 5 goals to 2. Libbra (x2), Cubaynes, Ferreri and De Falco.
The next match will take place on October the 2nd against the Old ones of Tours (les Anciens de Tours) (Furlan, Onnis, Da fonseca...).

ALL UNITED AGAINST MUCOVISCIDOSE
For the third consecutive year, OM had decided to give its support for association "To overcome mucoviscidose". Founded in 1965 and recognized public utility since July 12, 1978, it has the role to help and support the people touched by the disease.
OM-Troyes starts with the kick of Matthieu, a child touched by the mucoviscidose. The balloon of the meeting will be soon put at the auctions to the profit of the association.

WITH the SUPPORT OF BOSSO
Patrick Bosso is currently in the area as he takes part in the festival of the telefilm in St Tropez, to represent there the selected telefilm in which he plays: "My two husbands" (adaptation of film "kitchen to butter"-“Cuisine au beurre” with Bourvil and Fernandel). He is also currently in shooting for "Zodiac 2", the continuation of the saga of the summer. The humorist thus naturally made a hook by the Vélodrome to attend the match. He will be in Marseilles next December in the Odeon theatre for his very new spectacle: "Happiness" in which the spectators will be pleased to rediscover the sketch of "Supporting Marseilles".
