what's up PLG?
seen on SkySports:
According to reports emanating from the French press, Dynamo Kiev are keen to recruit Paul Le Guen as their new coach.
The highly rated young tactician has a growing reputation after guiding Lyon to four successive domestic titles in his last coaching role.
Le Guen has been linked with several vacancies since ending his tenure at Lyon but it is Kiev who reportedly lead the chase for his services.
Having agreed a TV deal with Canal +, it had been thought Le Guen would take a season's respite from the pressures of management, but it seems Kiev are keen to see him renege on his media commitments.
Le Guen was spotted in Kiev on Wednesday, visiting Dynamo's coaching facilities - as talk of a return to football intensifies.
Trusted assistant Yves Colleu was also in attendance, further fuelling reports that Le Guen is seriously considering a move to the Ukraine.

Err..which French press?
I haven't seen it anywhere, the guys at OLweb haven't
either it seems, so I'd say that's bogus.
Until proven wrong, of course...

Oh I know, always makes for good conversation
but he did sign a deal with Canal +, right?
I don't see how he could/would change his mind
now.

my opinion is that PLG shouldn't touch the NT with a barge pole. it's a thankless job which really has more to do with dealing with the press, big egoes and other extraneous distractions than it does with football.
PLG had a rare situation in lyon: a management, a public and a squad that let him stay concentrated on the essentials.
his strong points have little to do with the circus that surrounds les bleus. he's a fine tactician and a teacher. even topnotch players like juninho, essien and diarra have talked about how much he helped them improve their game.
he belongs somewhere that he has raw material to mold, not a finished product to put on display.

anything else...as in, none of these guys ( or at least
not PLG) have applied for anything.
But still...good conversation

He has the talent tactically, he motivates well, and he's familiar with the players. With Domenech it might be a struggle, given our recent lackluster performances, injuries, as well as the man himself to even make it to the 2nd round. PLG stands a better chance of achieving that aim, and who knows, maybe more. Personally, my expectations are not high, so I will be impressed with a manager who can give us some good performances. bref, his stock will increase, and a lot more opportunities will open up to him.
