New Nike Soccer Commercial I just saw the new Nike soccer commercial a minute ago! It was great considering whenever we do see a MLS/American soccer commercial/advertisement it's terrible, dorky, and embarrassing and mediocre at best. This one starts off with a bird's view eye view of soccer fields and a radio voice saying "Now, let's talk about soccer for two seconds here, two more seconds than it deserves. I mean who plays this sport? Nobody cares about soccer..." then they show all kinds people playing it with excitement, flair, and a "cool" style in every place you can think of anyone playing it. At the end it's Freddy Adu on an empty pitch inside a stadium showing his stuff, followed by some USMNT players walking on after. I thought it was great!

Re: New Nike Soccer Commercial I don't think I've seen that, but I saw one during the MLS game last Saturday which was about the US Soccer Foundation needing donations for kids who don't have the equipment to play. It begins with all these inner city kids walking on a park, all dumb and distraught while kicking the air. I guess they don't know that many South American kids can barely afford clothing, yet somehow play together barefoot in alleys, use wound up articles from dumpsters for a ball, and a couple of stones for a goal. Years later they are winning cups for club and country, while our American brats are still complaining about equipment availability/quality in commercials. Let's go, grow a pair!
Re: New Nike Soccer Commercial i loved it too! i thought they did a great job with it. that's one that wouldn't be so bad in the MLS side-by-side. when the commercial first started, i was like "o great, i can't believe the anti-soccer people stooped this low" but as soon as it showed the players, it made me chuckle a bit

Re: New Nike Soccer Commercial I saw it today on Fox Soccer Channel. However, I don't think they've been showing the full add though. I think this is just an editted version (Nike often does this with it's longer, more cinematic adds...for example, the Nike soccer tournament on the oil tanker add had both a long and short version). I would be surprised if Nike had built up all this hype for that add...unless of course, I saw only the short version and the previous poster saw the full length add. However, Nike's soccer page is still not showing the "exclusive video" yet, which makes me think that they have yet to release the full add on either TV or internet.
Re: New Nike Soccer Commercial Actually I like the Adidas MLS ad with the kids kicking balls against the garage door with the images of MLS stars up on the door. I don't think that one is dorky.

I think it's a pretty cool add. I like the way it mocks the typical sports radio talking head, who normally hates soccer. The game at the end of the commercial was the US/England match in Chicago back in May. I was there and had a great time. They show Clint Dempsey's goal near the end of the commercial. The place really erupted when he scored.
