Default why, sven?

the squad for the training to take place later this month was announced with all the big guns, becks, owen etcetera but no joe cole or lee bowyer and worst of all the name that strikes fear in the hearts of HIS defenders and joy in opposing strikers, "safe-hands" seamo.
he added jonathan greening to the squad because he plays on the left sometimes for boro( reason being he cant fcuking beat out geremi or boateng whoever plays on the right for boro so mclaren sticks him on the left) greening is a worse left winger than heskey, why no mcmanaman, joe cole CAN play on the left, i think it is important for him to be included in the squad, and as much as i detest bowyer, he is versatile enough to play on the left or right, and i'd fancy him over david thompson or greening.

no callup for richard wright who granted had a horrible season last year but it is no coincidence everton are in 4th place.

sometimes i have to question svens choices but HE IS THE MANAGER. i just hope we can be ready for the turkey match next year.

I have to agree with you. I've questioned his ability as a national manager a lot. England should be a strong, fast, attacking side, and they simply are not. Rather instead boring. I hope Sven starts to turn it around.

As for Greening, I've seen him a few times this year, and I actually thought he would get called up. You're right though, Joe Cole, Richard Wright, Bowyer and McManaman should be given their chances. Why not call them in for a training stint for goodness sake. Is it really necessary to keep a 23 man roster?

Joe Cole and Lee Bowyer haven't exactly been playing that well recently, so I can (sort of) understand that. But I'm not too sure about McManaman. I've been told he is playing well and is a regular on the Real Madrid scoresheet. Good enough to play alongside Ronaldo, Raul, Zidane and Roberto Carlos but not good enough to play in the England side. What's going on?

Does anyone actually know why Sven refuses to pick McManaman? Has he given a reason?

That said. He may have a strange selection ploicy. But he has been one of our best managers, so we'll just have to wait and see.

One last thing. what do people actually think about these training sessions and how frequent are they going to be from now on?

I read somewhere that Sven actually does like Macmanaman, but he feels that he lacks team spirit or something...

I think he should be given a chance, especially over someone like Greening, especially since macca has CL experiance and plays in Real Madrids midfield.

Joe Cole should be given as much international experiance as possible. If he plays as well as he can for England, he could add so much to the squad. Since he's young still, we should be kind of nurturing him into international football so that he adapts to it or something... Same goes for Bowyer although obviously he's not as young.

imho anyway

methinks macca had a little thing on the side with either ulrika( who hasn't) or the italian bird del'olio and sven is holding that against him, while on the other hand seamo has some damning pictures of svennis and that is why he is still in ze team.

Probably way wide of the mark here--but since i 've had a few i'm going to post it anyway's...

What to you lot think of the possibility that ol SGE is playing mind games with Sir Whinge-a-lot by picking Greening, knowing full well he was allowed to move on from manure as he couldn't hold down a place in the team.

A little kick back for making him look like a putz over the "injury" fracus.
