    6-2, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2! That never gets old....

Let's hope the rain stays away for this one, they've been saying thunderstorms on Wednesday for the last week.

I have never in my life seen DC United lose to the scum.

I don't intend on starting this week.

We should pray Djorkaeff can't refuel and reload in 4 days. He played beautifully Sat. Marking him out of the game should be a big concern, he's very clever and of course skillful, so who ever is marking him is liable to draw a yellow. Hopefully we can build a decent lead and use the nominal Gomito sub to bolster the defense for the last 15 minutes. I'm looking forward to a 9 point week.

Bozilla is back for this one. Unfortunately, Freddy will be out due to the thugs in Chicago intentionally screwing up his knee.

I guess the lineup will be something like this:

    ----------Rimando
    Namoff---Boswell---Prideaux

    ------Dema---Carroll
    Olsen---Gomez-----Gros

    ----Moreno---Quaranta

I agree with that lineup Mike, only I'd rather see Wilson where Prideaux is.

However as to what we'll likely see....

Can we make jokes about Meola in this thread or not?

I'm looking for Tino to show well Wed. and hammer at least one home.
I wish there was a way to get Wilson in that mix, Mike, in the midfield,
where he could go forward, and yet fade back to help on defense when necessary.

This game isnt a certain 3 pts., but I would think we should take at least 4 pts from this weeks home games.

Thamlin, don't forget the donuts, and loosen up that arm, man!
Meola started for Metros on Saturday.

I think this is a must win, as much as one can be at this date anyway. We have a 3 point lead, with a game in hand over them. A win Wednesday would be a six point swing, would keep pressure on the division leaders, and open up some breathing space for us.

What is clear from this past weekend is that the Scum can attack right now, so we need to score early and keep the pressure up in midfield all match, denying Jerkoff the ball in dangerous areas.

The 50-80 min span is when I will be most worried about jerkoff getting through. In the last 3 games played, this has been when United has let down the pressure and given up goals.
The guys will really need to keep thier heads in this one during that time frame.

Over the past couple of seasons, the boys have been scrambling for points at the end of the season - last year, to get the second seed over jersey, and the year before to squeak into the playoffs. IMESHO, every point is precious.

jerkoff and guevara is a problematic one-two punch in midfield. Constant pressure on the both them will be needed during the game, as well as being able get out on the counterattack and ask questions of their suspect defense.

Yeah, but these more than usual; it'd be a must-win (or at least a must-not-lose) even if it wasn't the MetroDonkeys, simply because we're fighting them for playoff status and we have three matches left with them (and only one with Columbus or New England, and done with Chicago and KC).

Isn't Guevara out, or is he supposed to be back by gametime? If he's not there, our d-mid game gets a whole lot easier.

Lets just hope that Gomez puts one in behind Meola, cause then the second one is inevitable. Why does Gomez always score in two's? Check out Dc United dot com, and go to the sights and sounds page, and you'll see what i mean.

I believe it's part of the BigSoccer charter that you are allowed to make Meola jokes in any DCU thread.

With Freddy out, who takes Gomito's place at a-mid when he comes out at the 60-70 minute mark? (I'm not in favor of increasing Gomez's minutes - not when he's playing with a hernia and we have a buttload of matches over the next three weeks.)

I think Tino could slide back nicely into that space. I'd say Jaime, but I'd rather not run him that hard late in a game on purpose.
I just hope Boswell enjoyed his extra rest and has a great game, if we let NJ come at us like Chicago, it'll be an equally heart-stopping game.

We enjoyed chanting "Fatter Than Meola" at the Chicago game Saturday :) To have to face Thronton and Meola in the same week is cruel, neither leaves much open space to squeeze a ball into the goal :)
I predict that Guevara gets red-carded in this game for being an ass, and that Lisi tears up a knee on the pitchers mound :). Also Fat Tony makes at least one run upfield to confront a referee.
