Ok, slightly off-topic thread...but never the less France related.

What Frenchy music does everyone (anyone?) listen too?

My personal faves: Serge Gainsbourg, Air, MC Solaar, Daft Punk, Indochine, Les Nubianes, and the singer from Ivy (who is amazingly hot) Dominique Durand.

Not on the list: Johnny Halliday, the kid who sang that dumb dance song "Dur d'etre bebe"

Good choices, maybe you might try - M - (not a personal fave but I think it's quality French pop) ; Le Peuple De l'Herbe also sounds interesting. Alexis HK has good lyrics from what I've heard.

Jordy, guess what ? He's currently starring in a Real TV program and well, the guy has apparently learnt to shag since..."Dur dur de débander"...Hem...

OK, I repost this, I'll phone them about having a little commission for that.

Well Obispo maybe ... I don't know Calogero that well. Did he do that Zidane song or something ? Florent Pagny and Roch Voisine, don't like them.

+1 for Indochine ... L'aventurier, class ! ... the comeback album was pretty good too (what's the name of the album can't remember) especially the first half.

Anything by Dutronc is tops also. "Guerre et Pets" classic. even the 60s $hit is good.

Early Renaud is also the shiznit.

Gainsbarre's "love on the beat" ... always fun to listen to at a dinner party.

Charlelie Couture +1

Alain Bashung +1 (that "pizza" cd is pure gold)
