Figo and Ribery
from http://news.maxifoot.com
OM: does that have a cast on Figo? (08/06)
According to the Spanish daily newspaper Marca, the Olympic one of Marseilles would be very interested by the medium of ground of Real Madrid, Luis Figo (32 years). The Olympic Lyonese is also on the rows and would have the advantage of making it possible to the Portuguese to evolve/move in League of the champions. A condition which would be important for the Inhabitant of Madrid. The destination of Figo remains fuzzy since other clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester United would be also interested. Despite everything, the OM would seek the financing which would enable him to see arriving Luis Figo and its experiment at the club. To follow. (By Anne Pinsolle)
OM: Ribéry in priority (08/06)
In order to reinforce the right side of its medium of ground, the Olympic one of Marseilles east always on the track of Frank Ribéry according to Foot Mercato. The old resident of Metz, today in Galatasaray, is even the priority of the OM. If the player appears favorable to a return in France, the Turkish club would not be inclined to release it for less than 6 million euros. A high price which could lead the Marseillais to turn to a player at the end of the contract, the Nigerian of Sochaux Wilson Oruma. (By Nicolas Perched)

Re: Figo and Ribery
Diouf/Anigo are signing players whereas no coach has been appointed.
Just like Troussier, the new coach will be told here're the players we have, go and make results.

Re: Figo and Ribery
Figo wont come to a team thats not in the Champions League unless that team over pays for him and Marseille can not do that. As for Ribery, they might be able to get him for free.

OM: large blow for Ribéry? (13/06)
The OM would be about to make an enormous blow on the market of the transfer. Indeed, the club of Provence could recover Franck Ribéry free. The old resident of Metz was not paid by Galatasaray, which owes him more than one million euros. However, a clause in its contract stipulates that if it is not paid today before 5 p.m., it is free. According to RMC, Diouf Pope and Anigo make the sustained pressure for the enrôler in this way. Announced for several days in Marseilles, the negotiations with the Turkish club had proven to be difficult, but in this case of figure... (By Vincent Rouze)

Re: Figo and Ribery
Well before I offer my opinion I am a fan of different leagues and have favorites in all leagues. Real Madrid in Spain, Marseille in France, and my all around favorite Man. Utd in England. Figo has played for Real MAdrid and has been linked to both Man.Utd and Marseille and after seeing this i must ask...
WHY?!
Figo is an overrated player who's only real credit was Euro 2000 and possibly 2004. He is aging and losing skill...skill that he did no have a plethra of to begin with. I am going to stick with the OM aspect and let the MU aspect of Figo alone. But what OM need is sufficent and consistent coaching and possibly some new defence. I feel that the midfield and foward are sufficent to get Marseille into the UEFA Cup/Champions League, the leadership is what is really lacking in our team. I mean for the majority of the season we were in form but lost it in the dying rounds...transfers are not always the answer my friends...
