little quotes before the game:

Benoît Pedretti : «Le match de Paris ? On avait envie de le gagner, mais peut-être plus encore de ne pas le perdre. Maintenant, on est libérés de ce poids».
Benoît Pedretti : "The PSG game? We wanted to win it, but above all not to loose again. Now we're free from this issue."

Benoît Pedretti : «Faut-il prendre les matches qui restent comme des rencontres de coupe ? Non, en coupe on est nuls… L’idéal serait de les prendre comme des matches de championnat d’après-Noël»
Benoît Pedretti : "should we take the league games like cups games?No! in cup we're crap!...the best thing to do is taking them like our after-christmas games."

Philippe Troussier: "ST etienne, Lens, Monaco, Paris, this was our "alpe d'huez"(tough games). But if you look to the league rank, this is just as if these games would'nt have been played.We're still at the same place, and our opponents rank is quite the same. We dont need to be stigmatized."

Jacky Duguépéroux (ent. Strasbourg) (AFP) : «On a supervisé les Marseillais 25 fois à la télévision. On les voit toutes les semaines, on les connaît».
Jacky Duguépéroux (strasbourg coach):"We supervised MArseille 25 times on tv. We see them every week, we know them."

The Meinau will be full, and Mickael Pagis is back.

It means our attack Farnerud-Niang-Pagis will probably start the game (unless Duguépéroux tries some trick). Since we beat Bordeaux in Chaban-Delmas last week and are not concerned by relegation anymore, we're in pretty good shape, it should be a nice game.

Le groupe:
GK : Cassard, Vercoutre;
Def : Boka, Deroff, Devaux, Haggui, Kanté;
Mid : Abdessadki, Arrache, Bassila, Camadini, Johansen, Keita, Lacour ;
Attack : Farnerud, Mphela, Niang, Pagis.

Où Sont Les Marseillais ?
Où Sont Les Marseillais ?

Final score, Strasbourg wins : 1-0
goal by Mamadou Niang at 93' (yes, ninety-third !)

And, as usual, Barthez shows himself as a dirty bas.... I mean, as a very rude person. sheesh, sore losers as usual, the marseillais.

Ahh!

That was painful. The last kick of the match and the Strasbourg player is left ALL ALONE in front of goal from a corner.

Oh, man, if I was a goalkeeper, I would feel murderous - and distraught. I don't envy goalkeepers.

Man, after all of Barthez's hard work, it's especially painful when you have nothing to show for it. It happens w/ him for Les Bleus also, but they come out with nil-nil results at least!

I was hearing some live reports from the match in my car and everytime they were speaking of Barthez's incredible saves. Yup, I second you, that must be very harsh to lose like that.
