Bosnia vs Germany (possibly R, 10/11) endangered
Tonight's friendly Bosnia vs Germany is endangered due to permanent rain. The helicopter unit of the German SFOR troups in Bosnia will try to dry the pitch as good as possible in the next four hours until the planned kickoff (8.30). Pitch rather is mud than anything else at the moment.
If the game is played all 19 available players will get playing time. Metzelder, Ballack and Hamann are injured and won't play today.

Olaf, how come they're playing on a Friday night, anyway? Why not Saturday?

Don't know. Maybe UEFA regulation that only qualifyers may be played on Saturday? Also possible that ARD had other plans for Saturday evening and Friday evening still has a better rating than Saturday afternoon.
Btw, why are you in Maine and not Vienna? Will be hard for Daum to find a club in Maine

Oh okay. I thought this was a qualifier, but I must have been mistaken.
I am still in Vienna (currently raining and 6 degrees C - makes me homesick for Leverkusen!). I just changed my profile to support the New England Revolution (my theoretical "hometown" club) on their run to the MLS championship. I'll amend it again once their season is over.

I saw the U-21 (23?) squad lose to Bosnia on DSF and that is the worst looking pitch I've seen. If they do play the match on that field, someone will surely be injured as a result.

Game will be played, today in Kosovo Stadium, Sarajevo. Yesterday they played in Zenica - must have been an awful game (5-1 for Bosnia btw).

HT 1-0 Bosnia (Mujcin 21')
German game is a disgrace. Nothing works, neither in the defence nor in the offence. There's no player I could name to be in a normal shape, not even Kahn. Germany had two chances - a Frings free kick after a Jancker dive and a Frings penalty kick after Jancker was held in the box (shot over the goal). Bosnia also hit the post, had several good actions and the ref refused them a pk. A 3-0 half time score for Bosnia would be a fair result.
4 changes at halftime:
Lehmann, Freier, Friedrich, Schneider for Kahn, Asamoah, Rehmer and Borowski
49' ejections: Wörns and Salihamidzic (ridiculous, this wasn't even yellow for one of them)
