I was just going to post this. Pirlo in a two man midfield is a liability. I think the 4-3-3 would provide much more balance and your attack is well covered with Mirko and Quagliarella who can play on either flank if needs be. I think you got a great player, hate that they sold him to you.

There is NO WAY I want De Ceglie starting. He's weaker than Ziegler, and given his performance Tuesday night that only confirmed it.

Juve are in the market for another central defender, like Lugano.

What happens to Bonucci??? Will he be third choice or fourth?

No, but there were some blatant dives that he got away with and everybody saw.

I can say the same thing about Krasic.:)

The refs no Krasic's a cheat, so every time he's fouled, play continues.:)

Aren't you guys gonna play a 4-4-2 this season? I think Vucinic would be wasted as a LM, honestly.

On paper, Pirlo is a starter. But, I envision Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal all rotating for the two CM spots. I see them all starting 2 out of every 3 games.

Vidal is a very complete midfielder. He originally started as a wingback (long time ago) but was converted into a DM. There, he flourished at Leverkeusen. But, last year, they played him more advanced - behind the strikers in an AM role, and he performed well in that position as well. So, depending on who he's paired with, he'll play different - with Marchisio, I'm assuming he'll play more offensively, with Pirlo more defensively.

I agree, but does Conte? DeCeglie did look pretty shaky against America.

Who knows what we're playing, and if he was bought for the LW well then it just shows how little Marotta and more importantly Conte know (since it's been said that Conte really wanted him).

    Re: Vucinic official?

Conte likes to play the wingers high. Many times in the past few games, Pasquato and Pepe/Krasic were as high up the field as the strikers. So, this is something which is more in Vucinic's comfort zone. Though, he isn't much of a help defensively which is why I prefer someone like Vargas or Bastos.

I think that the Viola fanbase will burst forth with a collective sigh of relief once Vucinic becomes official, honestly.

so then your saying vidal would do better if you player like this then?

    -----attacker----------attacker
----------------vidal? honestly i would make the use of pirlo as minimal as possible because when Milan had him they became Pirlo dependent and when he got hurt they sufferd not last season since their coach likes players who break legs instead of passing.

    What I'm saying is this...

If Pirlo is playing, it will be

    Quags - Matri
    Vucinic - Vidal - Pirlo - Krasic

Vidal play more of defensive midfield role and protect the midfield because we know Pirlo's defensive capabilities are zilch.

When Pirlo isn't playing, it will be this:

    Quags - Matri
    Vucinic - Marchisio - Vidal - Krasic

Marchisio will likely take on more of a defensive midfield role, giving Vidal a little bit more freedom to push up. That doesn't mean he'll become a trequarista, playing right behind the strikers though. What I was saying is that Bayer played him there this past season and he performed well there. Accordingly, he has the ability to create and add to the attack.

I don't see us becoming dependent on Pirlo. Milan were because he was part of their formation and strategy for years. For Juve, he'll be another part of the midfield that we can add.

To me it would appear to be 4-3-3.

    ---------------------Pirlo

    -----------------Vidal Marchisio

    Krasic------------------------------------- Vucinic

    -------------------Quack Quack

^^Yea, the 4-3-3 is better designed to give us a stronger-supported midfield but that's not the direction Conte wants..
