Is there anyone from Jamaica in here or anyone ever been there? I'm going on my honeymoon there at the end of Sept. do they have fox spoets, espn or their own sports channel? I gotta know before I go down there to get my fix for footy. Please dont tell my soon to be wife!!!!!!!!

I have been to a few placed in the Carib. Usually if the place you are staying has cable you will get espn and fox sports world, so you should be all set.

Although it sounds like you will hear the old "were on vacation you're not sitting there and watching soccer" from your better half.

The Reggae Boyz spoiled Japan's eagerly awaited first post-World Cup match with a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw at the packed National Stadium in Tokyo on Wednesday.
Feyenoord star Shinji Ono gave Japan the lead only six minutes into the game. However, Jamaican sub Ricardo Fuller equalized for the visitors with 11 minutes remaining on the clock.

Over 55,000 fans crammed the famous stadium chanting new manager Zico's name in anticipation of a beautiful game orchestrated by the Europe-based midfield quartet of Ono, Junichi Inamoto, Hidetoshi Nakata and Shunsuke Nakamura.

On the other hand, Jamaica coach Carl Brown's intent was clear: defend the goal. He had no fewer than six defenders in his starting eleven, with Inamoto's Fulham colleague Barry Hayles playing the lone striking role up front.

However, the Reggae Boyz' defense was torn apart after only six minutes, as Japanese midfielders and forwards combined brilliantly to score their first goal under Zico.

Naohiro Takahara found himself in space following a neat exchange of passes in midfield. His striking partner, Takayuki Suzuki, made a run to the left and opened up an area on the right. The Jubilo striker sent a perfect ball to Ono, who burst into the space created by Suzuki and finished the move with a beautiful shot into goal.

Suzuki nearly doubled the lead with a diving header following the best move of the match.

In the first half injury time, Nakamura found Inamoto who fed fullback Akira Narahashi making his trademark run on the wide position. The defender pulled the ball back to Nakata and his first center for the game was met by diving Suzuki, but the Genk striker directed his effort straight at Jamaican goalie Aaron Lawrence.

Toshihiro Hattori rattled the crossbar early in the second half with a powerful drive from a distance, but Japan lacked the edge to extend the score and allowed Jamaica to comeback with a late equalizer.

The home side attacked with panache throughout the game -- the midfield quartet and Takahara obviously enjoying the occasion- - but Japan's problems lied at the back.

The Japan squad had only two days of training together -- and it showed.

Kashima Antlers colleagues Narahashi and Akita on the right side of the back four were playing well due tot he fact that they have been playing in this style for ages under Zico. But on the other side of the defense, Naoki Matsuda and Hattori played too close to each other and their uncertainty handed Jamaica numerous chances.

They were also not helped by Inamoto neglecting his defensive duties in the first half.

Had Jamaica not been so wasteful in the opening half, the final score could have been different. Watford midfielder Micah Hyde and Hayles both wasted glorious opportunities in the first 45 minutes. Andrew Williams also left the Japan defense for dead with a beautiful turn in the 18th minute and Matsuda had to stop him by grabbing his shirt. Fortunately, subsequent free kick from a good position was wasted, again.

Japan was more solid after the restart, with Inamoto providing more cover from the midfield.

However, the Jamaican equalizer came with 10 minutes to go as the tiring Japan players started to slow down. It was a well-deserved goal, too.

Moments after Robert Scarlett of Spartak Moscow blew another chance for the visitors, Fuller, who plays his football with English First Division Preston North End, latched onto a cross from left before Hattori and blasted the ball home off the underside of the crossbar to the delight of small but noisy contingent of Jamaican supporters.

A rather disappointing result for the Brazilian manager, but attack-wise Japan did pretty well, probably much better than anything witnessed during Philippe Troussier's four-year reign.

Developing a defensive unit needs time, and a two-day training session was obviously not enough.

Zico must work out a solution in the defense if he does not want to be embarrassed by his old enemy Argentina, who return to Japan for a friendly in Saitama in November.

TOKYO, Oct 16 (AFP) - Brazilian football legend Zico made a debut as the head coach for the Japanese national team when his side were held to a 1-1 draw by 1998 World Cup nemesis Jamaica in a friendly match on Wednesday.

Zico fielded Europe-based players Italian Serie A's Hidetoshi Nakata and Shunsuke Nakamura, Dutch Feyenoord's Shinji Ono and English Fulham's Junichi Inamoto in the midfield with Belgian Genk's Takayuki Suzuki in the front.

Jamaica sent three England-based players, led by forward Barry hayles of Fulham, as well as Spartak Moscow's Robert Scarlett and two from the United States in Carl Brown's starting line-up.

Ono opened the scoring in the seventh minute after Nakata sent the ball to the edge of the area, where Jubilo Iwata striker Naohoro Takahara produced the last pass for Ono on the right.

Jamaica fought back with some inspirational play by Haylesa, who missed a header in the 23rd minute, and Hazard United defender Omar Daley, whose sizzling shot went wide in the 14th minute.

But it was Japan who got the next golden chance with a free kick on the edge of the area when Suzuki was brought down by Ian Goodison in the 35th minute.

Ono's shot went over the bar, while Haylesa missed two close shots soon afterwards and then Suzuki's header was saved by keeper Aaron Lawrence to end the first half at 1-0.

Japan got off to a terrific start by repeatedly threatening the Jamaican goal to excite a sell-out crowd at the National stadium with Toshihiro Hattori, Nakamura and Nakata narrowly missing the target.

Nakamura missed another shot from the centre of the Jamaican field in the 69th minute, which went straight to the keeper.

Soon after Scarlett mis-fired a shot from close range in the 78th minute, the visitors finally made it even when Preston North forward Ricardo Fuller's shot hit keeper Seigo Narazaki's right hand and went into the net after a long cross from the left in the 80th.

Zico, a midfielder in Brazil's World Cup campaigns in 1978, 1982 and 1986, succeeded Frenchman Philippe Troussier who led the 2002 World Cup co-hosts beyond the first round before they fell to Turkey.

Japan and Jamaica have one win, one defeat and a draw with Jamaica winning 2-1 in their debut World Cup in 1998 and Japan winning 4-0 in Morocco in June 2000 in their previous meetings.
