Exclamation Help Us Select the Best Soccer Moments of The Decade (1994-2004)

Dear Soccer Fans:

The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, invites you to review the following list of great soccer moments from the past decade (i.e. 1994-2004) and share your ideas as to what should be ommited, included and highlighted as the TOP 10 GREATEST SOCCER MOMENTS OF THE DECADE.

For starters, here's a small grouping that we'd like your thoughts on. If you would like to add something to the list, please e-mail us:

What DC bias?

Right, for some reason I couldn't edit, so here's my revised list after thinking about. No 94 World Cup, no MLS. No MLS, no Quaterfinals in the 2002 World Cup.


And manu11, you have to be kidding. Gold Cup 2002 is more important than our result in Korea?

1.--Men’s Results in 2002 World Cup -- The World takes notice.
2.--Establishment of MLS -- The begining of top level men's soccer in the US.

3.--Bruce Arena hired to Coach National Team -- The record since speaks to how big this monent has been.
4.--DC Utd. wins CONCACAF & Inter-Regional Championships in 1998 -- The first international titles for an American club.
5.--Olympics Women’s Team Wins the 1999 World Cup - they appear on the cover of Time, Newsweek, People and Sports Illustrated -- For a while, soccer was Queen.

6.--Hosting of 1994 World Cup -- America, Soccer....Soccer, America.
7.--Kasey Keller becomes first American Goalkeeper to Play with clubs in English, German and Spanish First Divisions -- Someone has to be the first.

8.--Friedel & Howard Named Outstanding Keeper in English Premier League -- US players the best in the EPL?! The sky is falling.
9.--Rochester Rhinos win Open Cup -- Absolutely! On any given day.....
10.--Earnie Stewart's game-winning goal against Colombia advances U.S. Men to Second Round of 1994 World Cup -- The future seemed so bright.
