As Hal's Stand in, I wanted to get the pre-organizing going before the end of the season. Please post your intention to return next season and send me your latest contact info via Private Message so we can contact you when we organize in July for the 2011-12 EPL season. Non-Rocks managers are encouraged to read the Sticky Thread on Drafted League Rules Summaries for New Managers and to scan through one of our draft threads for this past season. Non-Rocks managers please send me a Private Message with the following information: First Name: Last Name: BigSoccer Nickname: Proposed Team Name: Email address: Location: City, State, Country Likely Draft Time Zone: (We'll draft in early August.) Any other ways to contact you: Instant Messenger; Phone; etc. For example: Hal Jones BigSoccer Nickname: Hal Manager of the Aviators *********@****** Lorton, VA USA EDT or MST Thanks to everyone who has made this another successful season. We've added some interesting competitions this year and had some very active and creative first time managers. Well done. Looking forward to competing against you when you work your way up to the Small Rocks League! LOL
Aviators will be back, albiet we could be in uncharted waters of VSR. My contact info is still the same.
Mahna Mahna FC is definitely in.... although may make an application to the All Rocks hierachy for a name change. I wisely suggested everyone in Splinters name their team after a Muppet...not really thinking long term that the name selected would be carried through All-Rocks in the years ahead.
I better reply since I'm usually off Bigsoccer from the end of the season until sometime in mid-late July. I'm in and all my contact info is the same.
In off the post shall be back regardless of division Contact info the same. BTW..read an article last week that the 2011/12 season will kick off on the 13th of August. Might be vital info for those that will be on vacation/holiday for drafting.
I shall be returning for more pain ... and a little bit of pleasure. My contact info is still the same.
I'm happy to hear that, Hal. As it turns out, I could be competing with you in Very Small Rocks next season as promotion seems to be slipping away from my grasp.
The Scores are old. But here are the confirmed teams to date. Blackstone FC Sixxte will be hanging there cleats so 3rd Place in Dust will move up to Sand. Splinters League have dissolved and Mahna Mahna has completed financing and any legal matters to enter All Rocks proper. FC Touchline Ban will return. I don't want to cause a big fight here, but I'd really like to see keeping rosters updated in Google Docs become a mandatory All Rocks rule. There are several ways this could be done, from having each owner responsible for updating their roster to having one or two owners who oversee this process for a league. I just think it makes the game better when there is a centralized roster list.

I just logged in here to say the exact same thing. Mind you I have been in a League where there have been bugger all transfers (apart from me and one other) but Google Docs is crucial in seeing who has who at a glance and reduces the risk of what happened today in VSR. It gets tricky when there is a race for a player (Suarez for instance) but if you set up a separate thread on FPL for each GW, that still remains the "judge" in who gets what player first. Those who can't/won't access Google Docs simply say so on Big Soccer and someone else can update... I am happy to be one of those "updaters" for my league. So a Trade gets posted at least twice 1) On FPL and 2) Google Docs AND/OR Big Soccer.... and on that Big Soccer update simply request someone else update Google Docs if you have not done so.
Just checking into the forum. I see the GoogleDocs debate has kicked off again... So with that in mind, I'll check back in a week or so once blech has mopped up all the blood of the floor and collected the lost teeth. If everyone could supply their dental records before this erupts again it'll make the whole sorting process less painful at the end of it. Adios, and see you all in 168hrs (approx*)
I like Google Docs. I use it and try and update it as much as possible in whatever league I am participating in. However, while there is still a reluctance by some to use Gdocs it will never be completely reliable. I think we're stuck in a Catch 22 situation. We have a close knit group of dedicated managers and we can't afford to be pushing people away from this forum, and nor would we want too. In a case like this it may be best to stay with the status quo and keep the official FPL league forum as the mandatory place for logging transfers. Almost everyone can access the FPL website at all times whereas people have trouble accessing gdocs at certain times. And, at the end of the day, how long does it take to check 7 teams in your league for their player roster...? A few mins max. This is the crux of the matter for me. As I said earlier I'd be happy to use gdocs as a compulsory measure (I do just now personally anyway) but even though I check the gdoc I always, always check the team line-ups in the FPL website to be 100% sure as the small amount of extra time is no burden at all, even on a busy day.
Even though I've had endless problems with google docs I'm fine with it being a required part of going forward as long as my Bigsoccer or FPL posting asking for people to update it for me whenever I lose access counts as meeting the requirement and as long as the FPL site remains the only determinant of who has rights for a player. Before people point me to "fixes", let me point out that I've literally wasted days on the problem over the last few years (it first showed up in a work project) and have no interest in spending any more time trying to solve the access issue.
