the Canadians did well... it was nice to actually
see a true "world report" on sports..and actually
see the highlights....

seria a...
scottish premier league
premiership..

i dont wont to lose SKY Sports.. but this was a
quality broadcast..

although i hear they are intending to have the
obnixous Bretos on fridays...

leave out max... and good job Canada!

--According to my on-screen programming guide Sky Sports News will still be coming on 7am and 7pm.

I'd say it exceeded my expectations. A lot of soccer highlights I didn't expect to see. Their league tables were fairly rudimentary, displaying only points, but it was better than nothing.

Overall, I thought it was a good first effort.

First and foremost, I just hope my cable company keeps FSW after their merger with comcast. That said, I also found the show to be much better than I expected. The production values, while not quite ESPN caliber, also surprised me.

But on any given night, I'm probably going to prefer Sky Sports News to this.

Frankly, I think FSW should EXPAND its Sky Sports News coverage and show a different version of the show in its second hour.

OK, I guess.

But, I don't really believe in fixing things that weren't broken.

I like Sky Sports better.

The BIG problem, generally, with Sky Sports News, is the absolute dearth of actual highlights and game action; generally speaking, these can be reduced to players clapping at the full time whistle. I belive that this is practically due to other stations holding the "highlights" rights. Secondly, Sky hardly ever shows highlights from other leagues (or at least does not broadcast them in the version we see!).

This issue is not nearly as relevant in the US, where practically any station can show most game highlights on their various news shows. So, in this respect, FSW Report is a marked improvement over Sky Sports News. Nonethess, I'm glad they're keeping BOTH shows on the daily schedule.

All in all, a very good start. Keep it up? One question: is the show broadcast from Canada? It seems a bit surreal to have actual North Americans give precedence to football highlights over the would-be Comedy Central/sports crap on ESPN!

Thumbs up FSW Report -> Thumbs up

FSW Report gets a thumbs up from me. Nice to hear a sports broadcast emanating from this side of the pond that manages not to mangle all those foreign names and terms.

The amount of actual game highlights seems to be higher than Sky Sports News. Plus, there appears to be much less reliance on the telephone interview, as compared to SSN.

Further, any effort by FSW to increase the range of its offerings is always a positive in my book.

Is it just me or does it look like FSW has been making a concerted effort to look more like a real TV channel recently? I've noticed new commercials that don't last half an hour. I hope this leads to a long, healthy financial future for FSW.
