Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading Not sure if he's still there, but apparently he trialed with Dagenham at the end of July. Listed here in match report, although both first and last names appear to be spelled incorrectly. Lots of chatter on fan boards confirm it was American Opsahl, formerly of Reading: http://www.daggers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10692~2400794,00.html Also, while digging around found that Dagenham had another Yank trialing (training?) with them this summer in Scott Prozeller, most recently of Harvard. He's listed in a friendly match report here: http://www.daggers.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10692~2391497,00.html Harvard page: http://www.gocrimson.com/sports/msoc/2010-11/bios/prozeller scott
Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading Yes he is leaving. They tried to place him on other teams, but nothing really panned out.
Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading Opsahl just signed a contract for the rest of the season with Dalkurd in the swedish third tier. It's the same club that just signed Shaquille Phillips. The club comments: "He is a defensive player who can play in both defence and midfield. He has a norwegian background but is raised in the USA where he has learned the game at different academies. I haven't watched him play but we have gotten a good recommendation from the Reading staff. According to the information he is a strong, tough and very skilled player. He will arrive on thursday or friday and hopefully he will be ready to play next week."
Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading Dalkurd won their last game of the season today but it was not enough as they ended up in fourth place only one point away from promotion. Unfortunaly Opsahl didn't make much of an impact. In the nine games since his arrival he made the bench in four of them but received no playing time.
Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading Not getting off the bench for a team relegated from the Norwegian third division - his career is goin' places!
Re: Erik Opsahl to Reading It seems he is back in the states and has been invited back for a second tryout with the Chicago Fire through their open tryouts. They list him as Eric not Erik but with a last name like Opsahl I'm assuming its the same guy http://www.chicago-fire.com/news/2011/12/fire-hold-fourth-annual-open-tryouts-0
Any idea what's happening to this guy? There was an article in a local newspaper here today that Bodens BK in Sweden is bringing an american midfielder born in the early 90's for a trial next week and he's supposed to have the same agent as Alex Molano who played here last season. Opsahl seems to fit all of this and if he's still looking for a club I guess it might be him, especially since he's already been in Sweden once.
http://nasl.ezitsolutions.com/userfiles/files/NASL Combine 2012 Player list_v2.pdf Right now Opsahl is currently involved in the NASL (our 2nd division) player combine in South Florida that started Friday and concludes Sunday. Matches were played yesterday and today and I haven't read mention of him.
It wasn't Erik anyway, Ryan Gracia was the player and he arrived at Boden yesterday: http://www.bodensbk.se/fotboll/nyheter/2012/2012_02_13_ryan_gracia_tranar_med_bbk.html
