....at least not in English. This game will be on Telefutua and ESPN3.com at 10pm ET. I'm very suprised this game isn't on "television". I would have thought ESPN would air this. Questions, thoughts, concerns?
Disappointing, but not surprising. No regular starters on the team for the friendly. Only one player who's gotten regular looks in Bedoya, but he's been on the fringe for a while. No Landon, Dempsey or Howard means no ESPN coverage on regular TV. Can't blame them too much.
Some of you may know this, but for those with a Xbox 360, you can watch ESPN3.com on your Xbox...just have to download the program for it, which takes a couple minutes. The quality is excellent, and would allow those of you not watching the game at a bar to watch it on your TV.
I don't believe any of these January friendlies (which are never on FIFA dates, meaning no top players are available for either side) has ever been picked up by ESPN. They have, however, almost always been picked up by FSC in the past, so I'm not sure why they didn't pick up this one as well.
That's how I will be watching it. I think it might be in HD, or at least like you said, good quality. Plus I think it stays available to watch after the game for a couple days. But I like the commentary from Telefutura if its Jorge Perez-Navarro doing PBP. I always think he does a good job when it comes to the USMNT.
Unless the cable provider for the area you live in is not on this list: http://espn.go.com/espn3/affList P.S. Wavebroadband FU
I'm not sure if it's on PS3 yet. I know it debuted for the 360 around Thanksgiving, and it's been completely awesome since!
doesn't matter if the big names play or not, ITS THE US NATIONAL TEAM playing. If they air Division 2 college basketball and reruns of specials from ESPN weekly on ESPN2, they should air the national team, especially if they are playing on US soil. Its sad the only option for fans to watch the game at a bar is to watch it in spanish.

So this is from the WaPo... Doesn't sound like anything sinister here. Just wasn't in the cards. I've never used ESPN3, but I'm going to try that Xbox thing on Saturday. I'm not sure how worrisome the bolded bit should be. I was cocksure FSC would pick this game up, but they've let contract negotiations bleed into month two? Is that bad? I'm sure somebody will figure this out, but hopefully it doesn't effect coverage of the Egypt match. FSC is usually good for these games ESPN doesn't want.
I'd download the ESPN program on Xbox 360 before Saturday. That portion will slow down for events where a lot of people are trying to get it at the same time (soccer + college basketball). The viewing itself will work fine, just I've heard the download will slow when too many people are trying to do it at once.
You could try ATDHE.net or ChannelSurfing.net. There may be a feed of the match on there, but it will likely be the Spanish feed.
Am I not seeing something? When to espn3.com and saw a basketball game in english on my laptop. Went to upcoming event and saw the US men vs chile on sat at 10pm. Why would I need an xbox when the events right now can be clearly seen on the computer.
With the Xbox, you can view it on your TV instead of your laptop. It's the same thing. Works wonders if you have people over...you don't have to huddle in front of a laptop or two. I have ESPN3 normally through my ISP, but I cannot speak for whether Xbox will stream the match if your ISP is blocked. Someone with an Xbox but can't stream ESPN3 on their laptop will have to check it out and report back.
