Hey,

I started a game in FM 2005 and have let it run the past few nights just to see what happens in the future, so I thought I would share it with you guys. I'm running all the English leagues only, normal database, without full detail. I have the latest patch, but I didn't fix the German team until after I started this game (they have fake players due to a licensing issue). It's currently in March 2015. I really almost enjoy doing this more than actually playing it!

World Cup 2006

Final: Argentina 1-0 Germany
3rd Place: Czech Republic 2-0 Turkey

As far as the USA is concerned, we made it to the second round in 2006, losing to Germany on pks after a 0-0 draw. Bruce Arena was fired in 2007, and Porto's Victor Fernandez was hired. Failed to qualify for 2010, as we were eliminated at the first stage by Anguilla 3-2 on aggregate. In 2014, we again lost in the second round 2-1 to Italy. Fernandez was sacked after that.

Freddy Adu is possibly the most expensive player in the game, worth $80 million. Went to Milan in 2005 on a free transfer.

Jonathan Spector didn't get a chance with Man Utd and went on a free to Schalke in 2008.

Tim Howard has stayed with Man Utd the whole time.

DaMarcus Beasley was bought by Aston Villa in 2006 for $14 million. Left on a free to West Ham in 2013.

Bobby Convey left Reading to join Birmingham in 2005 for $4 million. He has since joined Southampton (2009), Blackburn (2012), and Leicester (2014), all on frees, spending most of that time in the Premiership.

Landon Donovan played for Leverkusen until 2008, joining Chelsea on a free. Left for Aston Villa in 2014 on a free.

Panama defeated Bahrain 5-1 on aggregate. I already mentioned the USA's result, but also Canada made it to the World Cup quarterfinals, Mexico to the second round.

The U.S. performance in 2010 was disgraceful, but more believable than Scotland winning the World Cup.

The 2018 World Cup was held in Canada, and the game is messed up and takes that spot out of the normal CONCACAF World Cup spots. So that means the USA went to the playoff against Syria, which they won 4-3 on aggregate.

In the World Cup, the USA got to the second round and beat Chile 1-0, but lost to Belgium 1-0 in the quarterfinals. Mexico also made it to the quarterfinals.

As far as the English leagues go, there hasn't been a lot of movement. There's only five teams in the premiership at the moment that weren't there at the start of the game, and none of the 2004 premiership teams are currently lower than the second division (championship).
