Default Premiership clubs to control national team?

Soccernet: Premiership to make England coup?

BBC.com: Premiership deny England takeover

Seems to me this is just another attempt by the Premiership to make sure their players play in less national team games, and when they do get capped, the clubs will try to get "compensated." The Premiership already have all the money and power in English football, I think taking more control over the national team is unnecessary.
