Hey everyone, I'm sure you've heard but the U20's play Mexico tomorrow in Kennesaw, Ga at 3:30. Putting this up to be able to discuss about the match, but also to promote it as it would be great if any people that live in the Atlanta area could make it out for the match. Hoping to see some people out for the game!
Unless you can somehow get him from Georgia to Maryland in time for the 5 PM kick off against Penn State, it's not happening. Given that kick off the Mexico game is at 330 and won't be over til around 530, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
I'm definitely going to be there. I really want to see Agudelo and Zahavi, but I heard they both got time in the first game. Anyone know who is and isn't likely to get time?
Colombia 2 - 2 Mexico Mexico won on PKs Colombia was better Mexico scored first when Colombia poorly defended a corner kick and left someone open on the back post. Fabian Castillo for Colombia is the best player at this tournament by a long, long way. He is lights out good. He was owning the game but had to be subbed out when Colombia was up 2-1. After he left Mexico was able to get more into the game and pick up the equalizer.
Continues his dominance...... Not slowing down from his U-17 WC last year. If an MLS coach can get him, it would be Huge for MLS.
I hope an MLS club does sign him. If the MLS teams can keep siphoning off the top young talent from the Colombian league, eventually the Colombian national team will be forced to end their boycott of MLS players.
Well, from the sound of it, there was no lack of MLS scouts at this tournament so the guy is definitely on their radar. Whether he's affordable or not, I don't know.
alarmed with how quiet this whole forum has been today. an hour to kickoff who is on site? any news? lineups? anything? forza inter
Yes. I'm a little surprised as well, but yesterday what they did was create a new thread right before kick-off to do the team lineups and play by plays.
USA STARTING LINEUP Kempin (gk) Garza Ibeagha Agbossoumonde Veeder Zahavi Okugo Powers (captain) Lletget Salgado Agudelo
more Garza? seriously? i figured that kid would be out of action putting aloe on the severe burns he got from being constantly roasted by Colombia. are there not any other kids who can play fullback on that side?
Actually, Bryan de la Fuente and Parker Walsh are both LBs and neither played yesterday. Strange that neither is in the starting lineup. Walsh is more of an unknown (and he's not getting much time for Karlsruher II), but DLF is a guy who Rongen seems to like. I suspect that there are minor injuries involved. The other guys who didn't play at all yesterday and who aren't in the starting lineup are Eduardo Fernandez and Moises Orozco. We know that Orozco is carrying a knock and Fernandez might just not be as good as Kempin, but who knows really.
Nice. Very defensive lineup with Okugo and Veeder. I think we'll look to counter more. Will your commentary be in this thread? EDIT: I guess I should read before posting lol.
Defensive with Boss. I hope he puts in a dominating performance. Not sure if we will win, in that we are not deep off the bench. bshredder anyway you can find out what will happen to Gale this January?
Is the other GK, Fernandez, going to get a shot at all? Has he performed poorly in training? Injured?
I misread the lineup. I thought it was Okugo and Veeder in CM. Still a lot of defensive minded players out there. Salgado/Agudelo has the chance to be a dynamic pairing. Wish I could be there to see it.
My guess at the starting formation ----------Salgado------------ Zahavi----Lletget----Agudelo ------Powers-----Okugo------- --Garza--Gale---Ibeagha---Veeder ------------Kempin-----------
US anthem now I would like to announce that a long Tristan Bowen article will be coming up over at Yanks Abroad today or tomorrow. Also Okugo and Molano articles are also in the works Recently YA has had articles on Lletget, Agudelo, Orozco.. and prior to the tournament we profiled Salgado and Zahavi
