Greetings from Syktyvkar and kudos to anyone who can find it on a map. I've lurked here a little this summer but not really had time to post. Here are some Champions League thoughts, pick in bold:

However, part of my reason for wanting to bet on Spartak is because I'll be at the match on Wednesday. (Perfect timing for me as I have to fly back to Seattle this Thursday and get to Moscow a few hours before kick off!) I certainly don't want any Spartak hooligans thinking I'm Spanish. I figure if I have a little wager on Spartak I'll be more convincing in cheering for Spartak. Right?

Anyway, so far this summer I've survived jumping out of a plane near Irkutsk and drinking vodka with the KGB on the Mongolian border, so I'm confident a few Spartak hooligans won't do me in.
